If you love fast cars, I mean crazy fast, crazy loud, detached retinas fast cars, then you must go to one of these races at least once. The NHRA Nationals are not far from me and I plan to go in October. I have been to a handful of NHRA Nationals and can tell you that you will be impressed.

My father got me into drag racing when I was a teen. He and Joe Amato grew up together in Old Forge PA. They raced both legally and illegally - LOL My father went off to Vietnam and that ended his racing career, but Joe kept in touch while building his AAA empire.

I use to drag a Mustang until I went off to college, it was a blast, but crazy expensive. Today I still drag, but only my purpose build motorcycle - much less expensive, but still a whole bunch of adrenaline.

If you get the chance to come out to an event this year, make it a point to stop on bye and say "hello"! If you've never been to an NHRA event, you owe it to yourself to experience it one time...tv just can't do it justice!
