Today I had the honor of working on a very good client's 2012 Centennial Edition ZR1. It is fairly new, but unfortunately the dealer touched it. There was some minor swirling and some holograms on the finish. The holograms were most evident on the carbon fiber roof and the rear spoiler.

Products Used:
Adam's Car Shampoo
Adam's All Purpose Cleaner
Adam's Glass Cleaner
Meguiar's M205
Chemical Guys Blacklight
Chemical Guys Lava
Chemical Guys V7 Hybrid
Adam's sVRT
Chemical Guy's Bare Bones Undercarriage Spray
Adam's In and Out Spray
ONR(clay lube)
Adam's Clay Bar
ONR(detail spray)

Here are some shots of the car during the initial inspection:

Due to the sensitivity of the carbon ceramic brakes, I took extra care to keep any chemicals from contacting them:

Adam's APC dwelling to loosen up the bugs and road grime on the front end:

After washing the car with Adam's Car Shampoo with 2 oz of APC to strip the finish, I was able to see the true condition of the paint. Swirling and holograms became much more visible:

M205 on a black finishing pad on a Flex 3401 was able to get all of the imperfections out, and finished down very nicely:

Great work. That's a really nice car to say the least!! I bet the owner was really pleased.

Imagine that...you buy a new car...take it to a very competent detailer....and it looks 100X

better than it did coming out of the showroom. Good job on that Vette!

^^^Thanks for sharing your processes/products!^^^

The "abilities" of M205 is amazing...even on the sensitive, special-clear-coated...carbon fiber surfaces!

If I may...
What product(s)/processe(s) were used on the: 'matte stripe-decals'? Thanks.

:)

Bob

Thanks guys! I appreciate the feedback!

On the matte stripes, I used Adam's SVRT...applied it with a foam applicator, then wiped away any excess with a clean MF. Came out with a great "sheen" while still being matte, not to mention the added protection that came with that step.

Thanks for the matte-stripe follow-up! :xyxthumbs:

(I'll have to give the S-VRT a try.)

No problem!

Not sure about rules here comparing products...but Chemical Guys VRP is the same formula, and a bit cheaper.

I'm from Clementon, NJ.

The ceramic brakes can NOT have any silicone touch them, so make sure to always use water-based products when dressing the tires. They say you can use soap and water, but as I was using an APC to clean the tires and wheels, I wanted to just play it safe. Might have been overkill...but when a car cost that much, I'd rather not chance anything.
