This is the 2nd car/truck I have done in the last month since I bought my HF DA. The first car was my daughters 2012 Jeep Compass and I used HF pads and HF backing plate. Came out pretty good. This time on the advice I received on this forum I bought a LC 5" backing plate and LC 5.5" flat pads. My wifes 2012 Cherokee came out really good imo, and pics do it no justice. Took me about 7 hours total from start to finish, a few light scratches on the hood I couldnt get out, i even hit those with a LC orange pad. Wondering if maybe a more agressive polish would do the job, being I cant feel them with my finger nail. Here are steps I took, and open to suggestions as I'm going to tackle a buddies black 2010 Jeep Wrangler in the next few weeks.

1) cleaned the motor using simple green diluted 50-50
2) washed the truck using 2 bucket system
3) clayed whole truck, took forever as previous owners neglected the paint
4) polished using LC 5.5" white pads and Meguiars M205
5) wiped down with car pro eraser
6) sealed with Colonite 845

Thanks, and I'm trying to get as much practice as possible before I tackle my 14 Grand Cherokee SRT. Because after that, freebies will be over, I will need to get payed for my services, lol

Looks great! :xyxthumbs: Your wife should be very pleased.
