2012 xterra dp paint coat

Looks great. How did you like the paint coating?
 
How did the coating application go?
 
Looks 1st class. I just finished claying & polishing one, putting a sealant on tomorrow. As an aside, did you put any dressing on the black vinyl steps on the step rail running along the bottom of the doors. I can't figure out what to use that won't be slippery in the unlikely event someone ever uses that step rail to get in or out.
 
The DP PAINT COAT was interesting for my first coating. First i used the DP COATING PREP POLISH. Nice product. Then the coating calls for a foam pad. I found it to grabby, so i switched to a MF pad. Spray/spread then remove any high spots with a MF. If i did any thing wrong i may have over applied? I did have a small issue with some light dark spots/streaking, but once buffed out with the MF they evened out. Cured now and the paint looks stellar!

On my nerf bar steps i just use CG TRIM RESTORER. All other plastics were sealed with WGTS. Glass got DP GLASS COAT & Wheels got DP WHEEL COAT.

So the thing is dripping with coatings! Cant wait to see how it reacts to the first rain/wash. Wanted to add....the dp paint coat was almost like working with BFCS but only in application.
 
I love the dp coating. After applying soap suds refuse to stay on the car. I've never seen anything like it in a wax or sealant. And the look of the paint after the coating is pure gloss. I love it. I've had it on my personal car for 3 months now I think and after every wash it looks just like it did the day I applied it.

Good to know. The paint indeed really glossed up. Even more so after 12-24 hours. Thank god i had no rain or bird bombs. In fact the vehicle will move first time this morning. David, quick question...how are you maintaining the coating? Any special soap or detailer? I have a sample of the the new DP POWER WASH & WAX. Just not sure if its safe to be using any product with wax in it?
 
Nice. DP Paint Coating is a top notch product.

Unlike a lot of the other coatings, DP Paint Coating can have wax applied over it. I've used Megs UQW and DP Max Wax on top.

I wash with Chemical guys honeydew and I use Nano shock as a drying aid and for a wipe down after. I've also used reload a little bit but I'm still running into bad streaking issues when using it on my car.

A few of my customers that I personally know have just been using the meguiars ultimate wash and wax soap that you can get at auto zone and their coatings are also holding up great.
