I'm working for a top notch auto body shop in my area over the winter. Since detailing work is tough to come by during the winter, here I get steady work and even some descent jobs.
This week had a 2013 Audi A4 in midnight blue metallic. This car belongs to a good friend of the shop's owner. I performed a paint correction service that fit the budget given.
Service: 2 step paint correction w/ about 85-90% correction.
Exterior:
-Car spayed down with foam lance
-washed 2 bucket method
-clayed while wet
-dried with compressed air for no surprise drips down the panels, therefore no water marks
-wheels & wheel barrels cleaned
-door jamb's wiped down
-exterior plastics and tires treated
-taped for compounding
-compounded
-polished
-all work checked with spotlight (3M PPS Sun Gun)
-metals polished
-AIO applied to exterior "chrome"
-exhaust tips polished
Interior:
-blown & vacuumed
-dust wiped down
-APC on door jamb/floor area to get scuffs and marks out
Products:
-Chemical Guys citrus wash & clear
-Simpson pressure washer
-foam lance
-gold plush wash mitt
-2 buckets with grit guard insert
-boars hair round brush for gas tank, emblems, and tight spaces
-Griots detailing clay (mild)
-Daytona Speed brush
-Sonax Full Effect
-Simple Green on wheel wells
-Assorted brushes
-#0000 steel wool
-Nevr Dull on the exhaust tips
-Meguires water based dressing on tires/trim
-Colonite 845
-Mothers Reflections Cleaner Wax
-3M tape
-3M Sun Gun spotlight
-PC 7424xp
-Lake Country assorted Pads ranging from orange-black, 5" and 3"
-Meguires 100 & 205
I'm not used to documenting my work so bear with me. Didn't photograph inside, since this was job focused on paint correction.
