Sorry for all the pics guys, but she just loved the camera! I first want to say that I’m hooked on lake country’s hybrid pads!
This beauty got the works today. Started out with a two bucket grit guard wash using megs shampoo plus, after using the compressor to blow out all the cracks I dried the rest off with cobra drying towels. Next everything that needed to be (esp the stripes) was masked off for easy/safe polishing. Once everything was masked off the car was decontaminated using megs clay with speed shine. Now for the polishing…I first used some mezerna SIP on a blue hybrid pad with the flex 3401. I would run it around 5 for about 4 passes and slow down to 4 for the last two passes. Second step was with menzerna SF (4000) on a white hydrid with the flex 3401. I ran this around 4 for four and slowed it down to 3 for the last two. Finally everything was sealed up with some fuzion applied by hand. The customer was very happy with the results and already wants to book for next year before Carlisle. Forgot to mention...I eneded up using 6 blue and 6 white hybrid pads on the whole car. The customer uses turtle wax ice on the strips so I just continued to do the same for him. Thanks for looking guys!

This is my first time seeing a yellow mustang and all I have to say is wow cause you did amazing work on it ...keep it up

Excellent work and great pics! Love that Boss 302 :dblthumb2:

Wonderful work! Looks amazing man, congratulations.

I also like the Hybrids on the flex, aren't they great!?

Well, your pictures are worth a thousand words on this.

Thanks for sharing.

Kind Regards.

Not a fan of yellow myself but daaaaaaayum! That's one sweet pony!

School bus yellow - my favourite boss colour! Nice work!

Great work! I will be working on a 2012 Black Shelby in a few weeks. Correction and sealant. Keep up the good work!

The Boss 302 Mustang is legendary and this 2013 model does indeed do it justice.

I remember with Ford introduced their first Boss 302 Mustang in 1969. I stopped into Tasca Ford in East providence RI for a face to face visit with this bad boy....impressed to say the least! Ironically, the one of the 1969 Boss Mustang's was yellow, not quite as brilliant but yellow nevertheless....

What was even crazier was a half dozen or so Boss 429 Mustangs sitting right then to them....

Simply stunning..........I'm surprised you didn't kidnap this one....I would have!! :props:

I may be a Camaro guy, but those 2012/2013 Boss 302s are courageously nice. Ford hit it out of the park with that production run.

I'm still reminded of a gal in my high school class who's rich parents bought her new '69 Boss 302 stang as graduation gift...and she totaled it within a week. I cried inside for days thinking how many guys would have killed to get a car like that.

A question on how to handle the stripes.

Did you tape them off to avoid getting either polish or wax on the matte stripes?

Or were you able to just polish up to them without getting any splatter on them?

I had a neighbor polish right over his stripes (but on some Dodge) and ruined them. they became very shiny and nothing could get them to "matte down" again.

Hey guys. Thanks for the kind words! I'm always happy when my customers are and this was a fun car to do...minus the strips. The customer already asked if I can keep the weekend before the Ford Nationals open for him every year from here on out.
I have to say that the hybrid pads have taken detailing to another level for me. I agree with SMACK and others that the LC hybrids, flex 3401 and menzerna products are a tuff combo to beat. I haven't used the FG400 yet, but I soon will.
With regards to the strips...I tape the strips leaving a slight over hang to avoid getting polish/wax in the seams of the strips. Taking the time to tape it off I feel is cheap insurance to assure I don't get the strips jacked up. You still want to take your time and be careful going up to those edges though.

That is ABSOLUTELY the right colour for that car...especially after you had your way with it!

Nice work and I'll be sure to keep an eye out for it at Carlisle this weekend! It'll be easy differentiating whether or not I have found the car based on its paint condition. Keep up the good work.

That yellow looks so deep and glossy now! Great job!

Good advice on the stripes. Always safer to spend the time taping up than risking damage to sensitive areas.
