Hello guys I'm new to the forum I've read some threads in past weeks and looked at Mike Phillips video on youtube and learned so many stuff.

I have white 2013 Mercedes CLS63 and I want to max the shine. The paint is good I don't have so many swirls but no shine at all the paint feels cloudy in some area specially on the roof.

I'm looking to purchase a PC 7424XP kit from AG with Menzerna polishes

Menzerna polishes for ceramic clear coat paint, Porter Cable 7424 dual action buffer, Nano polish, super intensive, Lake Country pads, Show car kit

Would this kit help me remove the light swirls and cloudy look on the roof and max the shine of the car ?

It will be first time polishing a car I did the interior carbon fiber trim using a drill with CG V36 and V38 I removed all the swirls from the trim :xyxthumbs:

Thanks in advance

I have hard time trying to show the swirls in the picture since its white car

That damage looks really light in the photos.

Try a Test Spot with the Menzerna Super Finish PO 106 FA (SF4000) on a grey pad 1st.

If that doesn't cut it or is taking too long. Try the Menzerna Super Finish PO 106 FA (SF4000) with a White Pad.

Updated! Autopia Polish Comparison Chart - Autopia Forums - Auto Detailing & Car Care Discussion Forum

SF4000 is 3 of 10 on aggressiveness scale
SI1500 is 7 of 10 on aggressiveness scale

Here is the Menzerna version of the chart:

Menzerna, Menzerna Polishing Compounds Products, Menzerna FMJ, menzerna polishes, menzerna car polish, menzerna nano polish, menzerna final polish,

Thanks Allen

Is there easy way to see swirls on white car ?

The car will be washed and polished in parking lot. I always use CG Eco-smart waterless wash but it contain wax is that okay to clay and polish the car after Eco-smart

Any other tips or anything I have to look for when polishing ?

That's fine, any protection will be removed when you polish. Don't forget to clay to remove any contamination so it does not gunk up your pads.

I also suggest going with the griots DA, it has more power than the porter cable. 5 inch backing plate, with 5.5 inch pads.

Also, read this thread. http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...estions/47152-ceramiclear-paints-careful.html

Sorry guys but I have question about the pads

The kit include a 5 inch backing plate with CCS 6.5 Inch pads and I'm thinking to get 3 or 4 pads from each. Should I get 5.5 pads or stick with 6.5 ?

Any benefit from using Chemical guys Black polishing pad?

Hello guys I placed an order today. I ordered the following items

Brinkmann Tuff Max Dual LED Swirl Finder
5 ½ x 7/8 Inch Orange Lake Country flat pads
5 ½ x 7/8 Inch White Lake Country flat pads
5 ½ x 7/8 Inch Black Lake Country flat pads
5 ½ x 7/8 Inch Blue Lake Country flat pads
Menzerna Power Gloss Compound PG-1000
Menzerna Super Finish SF-4000
Menzerna Power Finish Polish PF-2500
Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant

But I dunno what polisher to get ?

GG 6 inch
PC 7424XP
Rupes 15ES
Flex 3401 VRG

I'm looking for fast and easy polisher not noisy one

The PC can give you really nice results. Maybe not as much as a Rupes, Flex or Rotary. But the PC Menzerna kit should do plenty.

As far as pads, 2 of each should be a nice minimal amount.

Maybe get 2 Meguiar's MF cutting pads?

2 MF cutting pads
2 Polishing pads
And
2 finishing pads

:dunno:

Also get yourself a brush unless you have an air compressor.

Whichever way you choose, just make sure to have a good time out there Detailing :xyxthumbs:

I got 3 of each pads

I don't think I need MF pads because I'm removing fine swirls probably the LC white flat pad would be enough

I've been aiming on the Rupes 15ES for long time. What I like about the other polishers you have option of backing plate because I have 4" pads I want to use but I can't use them on Rupes

Finally I pulled the trigger on the Rupes 15ES

I tried the machine on a crappy piece of carbon fiber

I used CG V34 with their 5.5 MF cutting pad

I had bad experience with Chemical guys today. I went to their Showroom to get the Rupes they went to get me new one in a box when they brought the box I opened the box to check what inside it luckily I found used Rupes 15ES dusty with some polish on the machine. So I went and grabbed the one on the shelf which looks better than the one in the box I really wanted to get it so I took it home with me :o

I can't wait to get my LC flat pads and Menzerna polishes from AG and start polishing
