This car belongs to a civilian co-worker of mine. He`s a young guy and this is his first brand new car! It`s a beauty and I wanted to amp up the shine/glow and also coat it for him. The coating of choice on this one was Americoat. Here it is as it arrived. He's only had it a few weeks so far.

First up was the wheels, barrels and tires. The barrels were done first with Tarminator followed by Zep Citrus. The wells were cleaned with LATA. The tires were done with Zep 505. Check out Zep doing its thing...

The car was then washed with DG 901 followed by a decontamination wash with IronX gel and my new Intellisponge (I used the mitt with the 901-see my review of them). The car was then brought in to be clayed with my CarPro clay block. Nice tape mess that was left by the dealer (took Tarminator to get it off)..

The whole car got a one step of Ameridepth + orange B/S + Flex 3401 followed by DG Squeaky Clean by hand. The trunk had some marks that I could not let go. I used Americut with a black TB wool + Flex 3401. The first pic is the defect and the following 2 are after only one pass and nothing else:

Americoat was used on the paint, trim and wheels. I used DP glass coating on all the glass. It was being a PITA to use this time. I had to remove it very quickly. The barrels were shot with Permanon. The exhaust tips were done with Colli Metal Wax. Here it is all done:

Some red `flawless`reflections:

Thanks for looking. He was so excited to get it; it was very rewarding. He took it straight to work and texted me and said after only being there for 10 minutes, he had already received a compliment on it!! Cool!

Beautiful work Richy !!!! Exactly how red should look....

Nice job.

I have to ask a noob question...how did you keep the Zep 505 off the wheels?

I've got a soft spot for the Gen Coupe...I had a 2011, it was a fun car and the paint was a joy to work on.

Looks really good!
Thanks very much!

Thanks Pat!! If I had it looking 1/2 as good as yours, I'd be all set!!

Thanks! I just spray it directly on there, but if some gets onto the wheel, it's no big deal, it won't hurt it. Bet you have fond memories of that 2011!

Great work on that GC, I'm partial to black myself
I see that, LOL! Congrats on a very nice car!

Awesome result!!!!
Thanks so much Tom!
