My service manager brought me this vehicle and basically told me the man that owns it needs a detailer for several high end cars and wanted to see my work. So I needed to make this one count for sure. The wheels were absolutely awful and the rest of the Jeep was not much better!

Here it is on arrival

After several rounds with APC, various brushes, and pressure washing here it is all dressed up. I was a little disappointed with myself because I went a little heavy with the dressing for my taste.

Next I pressure washed the wheels, tires, and fender wells and cleaned with APC using various brushes and a microfiber towel. Forgot to get pics of the wheels in process. Then I rinsed the vehicle thoroughly via pressure washer and pre soaked, rinsed, pre soaked, agitated emblems and crevices with a soft brush, rinsed, pre soaked one last time and did a two bucket method wash with grit guards via microfiber wash mitt

After the wash I emptied the buckets. The two bucket method at work
First the soap bucket

Now the rinse bucket

Notice the amount of grit!

Now I clayed with fine clay and Meguiars Final Inspection. Flat surfaces had a ton of contamination. This was after half the hood.

The paint was in pretty good shape considering the filth that was on top

Light holograms on the fuel door probably from the factory

And this one spot I see on lots of new cars I'm assuming from de nibbing at the factory? Anyone?

I decided on an orange lake country had pad and hd speed based off the paint condition and time constraints

Thank you! We will find out sometime soon.

service manager, as in a dealership?

There are times when I want to bring my da to work and really show people what a car should look like instead of using a rotary with 3m pads and product and looking horrible.

Yes as in a dealership. I was lucky enough to get there as they were opening the store and quickly became the manager there. Even so I use my personal polisher and pads on customer vehicles and stay after hours for jobs like these.

That is one hell of a Cherokee good luck.

Had a previous manager take me for a ride in one a while back. And man! That thing has a launch mode that will throw you back in the seat!

Well done, you deserve to do the remainder of that customer's cars. I hope you get a good cut of the deal from the dealership although I question that.

I get a small decently fair bit from customer pays. However the rest of this customers vehicles will be done personally between the owner and myself.

Very nice work. Couple questions:
1.) what was your lsp?
2.) my SRT has a good amount of orange peel - how was that one?
3.) the brake dust on my wheels gets unbearable- by the exterior I assume that job was pretty rough?

Meguiars Gold Class carnauba paste mainly because it was there and because one of two things.... Either I will be taking care of this vehicle in the future or it will likely return to the same state
Um in my original pictures you can see the orange peel a lot better but the quality of my iPhone pictures goes way down once uploaded. But yeah it had a lot of orange peel even for a factory paint job.
And it was pretty easy to remove the brake dust. I pressure washed, sprayed with APC, and rinsed before any agitating which helped a lot. I believe I would coat them if the brake dust is really bad. It would be much easier to maintain.

Thanks - it looks amazing. I too am amazed at how bad the orange peel is for a new car. I've been so tempted to go at it with a denim pad but keep chickening out.

For the brake dust, I coated with the Pinnacle Black label, including the calipers. But the stupid Brembo pads dust so bad after a 5 min drive in normal lights the wheels are already looking black. Coating makes them easy to clean but still a beast.

Hope the nice work yields more jobs!

When you pressure washed the engine compartment did you tape or wrap up anything to protect the electronics?

I did not. Mostly everything is sealed and of course I was careful around any electronics. Probably not the safest call in the world but hey chemical guys has a how to video on a Charger they didn't cover anything on and everything was dried with compressed air.

at this dealer they are only use to the crappy products that get used here for production detailing. I used ultimate compound instead of this 3m junk because it doesn't dust and finishes better and the manager called it glorified wax. Its rough seeing what some of the guys do for detailing.

I would love bust out the da on some super nice cars but they pay flat rate so its all about speed. That's why I love doing side work.
