2013 SRT Viper - Yay or Nay?

BIG YAY:dblthumb2::dblthumb2::dblthumb2:

You can see the original GTS there for sure but a look that's more evolutionary than anything, great job by Chrysler and its new, infused Italian blood!

Funny you said that, it looks like it has a bit of Italian influence in the styling now too

Big yay.

By the way, under the hood you'll find 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque from a front/mid-mounted 8.4-liter V10.

I just did a quick check and you are correct. The GTS is 640/600 which is impressive to say the least. The numbers I was quoting earlier appear to be a base Viper. With that said, I have more respect for the Viper now that I know the hp and torque are closer to what I would expect from a car in that price point. I still stand my ground though and will have to give it a Nay. I still think with the money I would save buying the GT500 instead of the GTS, I could use to make the GT500 far superior and still have some money left over for a rainy day. This is all hypothetical though considering the fact that it would be a long time before I had the disposable income to purchase either of the two.

I say yay - sexy damn car! But I still wouldn't drop 100k+ on a Dodge - even if I had it to drop. Maybe that's just me though...

Yay from me. :props:

It's a sharp looking car, but way over my budget!

It's not a Dodge anymore, it's a SRT!! Haaa! :)

If I had the money I'd buy one. Great job from the SRT team.

I have to say its nice but I would still take a 97 GTS coupe blue with white stripe. That to me is my dream car.

Yay! I'll never have one, but I can appreciate most supercars. I too would get the Cobra before a Viper.

The SRT line is great I driven both Challenger and Charger and they feel great. They have new people in the SRT group and they are rally making comeback.

Nay because, aside from the Ferrari 599-esque front end, it looks almost identical to what's already been done with the Viper. The interior looks great though.

I like it. A throwback of the 1996 body style. The generations after that I stopped liking the viper. They just didnt look good imo. This however, they did right.

bad ass car but maybe SRT could have designed it AWD so it would make it better to launch and handle on corners.

I disagree with putting awd on this, sorry. It would take away the recipe for a traditional American muscle car.

I am however upset that they did not give this viper more hp. It always seemed to have an obscene amount, 600hp is a lot but in todays times, it is not. I really think they should have raised the bar and given it 700-750. Just so everyone knew its presence and it would be given the respect it once had as such a "monster".
