I love the new Corvettes and was looking forward to working on this one! It was to be clothed in its Finest of course. Nothing but.

Here it is as it arrived:

A little bit of smeared bug guts for ya:

This was not to be a wheels-off detail, but they still got tended to well. You'll see later.

Nice subtle calipers:

First up was the wash. The usual for me, wheels first.

Tires were cleaned with Zep 505.
Barrels cleaned with Tarminator followed by Zep Citrus and Megs HW.
The faces were cleaned with a spray of ZC and washed with a demoted wash mitt using HW.
The wells were cleaned with LATA.
The barrels were shot with Permanon to give them a bit of protection.

The car was then washed with Megs HW followed by a decontamination wash of IronX paste.
It was then brought inside and clayed using my CarPro clay towel.

It was only scheduled for a one step polish. Seeing it under the lights, this was all that was going to be needed..see:

It was given a one step polish using a yellow B/S pad + Megs 205 + Flex 3401. It made the flake come alive and gave it a nice glow. The exhaust tips were hand polished with M205 + mf and subsequently double coated. The trim was done with DLux. The windshield got an upgrade to Forte. The paint, glass, head and tail lights were all given a double coat of CQF. I also coated whatever I could get to on the calipers. Here it is after one coat. I wanted to make sure I got some shots before it rained:

You can see the very cloudy sky in the hood reflection:

After its mini photo shoot, it was brought back inside for its second coat of CQF and then baked.

It turned out to be sunnier (not much) than before. Here it is all done now:

Thanks for looking! Comments appreciated.

Wow, that's a nice looking car. And you made it look even sexier Richy! :xyxthumbs:

Looking good! Those wheel barrels are spotless. Nice work on the exhaust tips as well.

You missed a spot, can you see where??

Otherwise awesome car and awesome detail job :props:

Looks great Richy, surely the owner was happy!

Its really nice to see a C7 without those gaudy gloss black wheels that everyone and their brother seems to opt for. Imagine how those wheels are going to look a short time down the road!

Great job as always Richy! That C7 looks stunning!

I agree. I like the silver wheels better than the black. Especially the Z51 wheels.

Thanks very much Davey!!

Well done! Nice pics too
Thanks kindly. I don't spend a ton of time taking them, but after all the work, you kinda want to capture it as well as possible.

Thanks very much! Barrels are a big deal to me.

She's a beaut Clark..............
Thanks kindly!

I sure do Don, I missed blotting out the damned plate! I'll see if I can do it later.

Nice job, Richy! That thing is gorgeous.

Walter
Thanks very much Walter; I totally agree!

Thanks kindly. For me, I'd love to have black wheels with either white, red or yellow.

Great job as always Richy! That C7 looks stunning!

Thanks very much Marc! I did his last Corvette for him and it had chrome wheels. He really misses them (I know as I'm a sucker for chrome wheels myself!) and if anything, he'll upgrade to chrome down the road.

Looks really good but that front plate has to go!
Thanks! As far as the plate goes, as a police officer in the province of Ontario, I'm glad we have a front plate. Does it ruin the look of the car? Absolutely! But, heh, it makes my job easier, LOL.

My very first post.

A wonderful job, but as a newbie when a senior member posts comments like,

"The faces were cleaned with a spray of ZC and washed with a demoted wash mitt using HW.
The wells were cleaned with LATA."

I'm lost because I have no idea what 'ZC', 'HW' or 'LATA' and 'CQF' are. For us newbies maybe at the end you could do kind of a glossary of the products used.

Mickey, point taken. I go out of my way in my write ups to include the products, pads, polishes and machines I use to show what works for me. My write ups are not just fancy ads used to promote my business. I use a lot of the same cleaning materials and have come to refer to them by short cuts as I'm too lazy to type, LOL. I made an effort in my latest write up to use their full names. Check it out and hopefully that explains it for you:
