2014 Fall Dragon Run...10/8 thru 10/12

As you know Monica the Tail of the Dragon trip is a real getaway from the same old same old and I look forward to the trip each and every year. Its also a time to re-connect with friends I only get to see once a year due to where they live in the country. There's just something about being out there an driving the roads, windows down and listening to the car, something I'll REALLY enjoy this year more than ever!

Having gone down there every year since 2003 I've really thought about how do I get down there to stay and I'm going to be looking into doing this over the next couple years. Although I've grown up in the city I just like the people down there and the life style, laid back and everyone is very friendly to you, they just talk to you like they've known you for years. When we go down there WE'RE the ones with the accents, so we stand out for sure and its all good!

If its meant to be it will happen but I really hope to make this a reality to live out the rest of my life in "God's country"!
 
Going this week for a tennessee getaway, plan on heading one day this week for lunch at notorious pig and a scenic drive doing it in my buddies f-150.

That place is really good, I bet Deal's Gap doesn't like it but oh well, competition is always a good thing!

Enjoy your trip out there in the F-150, largest vehicle I've ever driven on the Dragon is a Contour SVT, LOL:p

We have NO "set in stone" plans for leaving time on Saturday but what I do know is we're going nowhere near the Dragon on Sat, LOL! If I had to guess by late morning on Saturday we'll be heading towards the Devil's Triangle and doing that. Its about an hour and 15 minutes to get to the Devil's Trianngle from The Dragon Pitt Inn, so we've got a nice little cruize to get there. On your GPS you'd just put in Oliver Springs to get there but basically you take 411 to get there.

I have some locals whom are only coming out for Saturday but i'd like to leave by 11 a.m. on Saturday though but if you let us know here and need a little more time that's ok.

Its supposed to be a high of 60 here this Saturday, yep, its getting REAL close to Dragon time:thumbup:

I almost did Charlie Batch in honor of the Lions winning yesterday, but he sucked so I went with a winner instead! :)

Thanks, weather looks great this week eat at mamas farmhouse in pigeon forge last night, menu changes a bit every night really good have been there before for breakfast highly recommend. Also right next to it is a steak joint called the almo hands down the best I have ever had.
 
Pfft, I've been on the Dragon while a 3500 truck was towing a 15ft camper trailer... good times Im the MAN

I'll pass those restaraunts on to the guys staying near Pigeon Forge since they're staying near by. We all might need to hit that steakhouse on Saturday evening as we're all driving together on the Devil's Triangle that day!
