Good afternoon friends,

This weekend I had the pleasure to work on this 2014 GM Tracker in Black. My New Car Detail package consists of bringing the car back to 'like new / better than new' condition, and protecting it with a very durable product (coating). The customer is then encouraged to sign-up for (at least) monthly maintenance program for results to last for a long time.

Everything is inspected and corrected, from under the hood, door jambs, wheels, plastics, to near flawless paint polish. After entire work, every part is then coated with Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Surface Coating.

Let's take a look:

Car arrived with only 2641Km on it.

Somewhat dirty from first uses, it arrived at the right time for the job to be done.
Track14_1b.png

Contaminants will start to stick, water spots and other stains will start hindering the glossy finish as soon as the car starts to ride on the streets.

Take a closer look:

Rear pillars presented details with very soft paint, already swirled up by someone's love attempts.

On both sides:

Starting the Work

Once a guy who is very 'picky' about car detailing told me: 'If you want to make a car looks great from above, start perfecting the lower parts'.

This is very true since the simple act of cleaning and detailing the wheels and wells will give the car a more respectful look.

Here's the before condition:

Even after washing and degreasing, some flaws still show up:

Like you can see here, in zoom:

Wheels were fully detailed with proper tar remover:
Track14_7d.png

Tires were cleaned to a flawless state, as you can see here. No tire dressing was used on this work.

Washing and Decontamination

The car presented fine overspray contamination, and needed to be clayed. After removing embedded surface contaminants, surface already looks smooth and glossy, ready to be polished.

Interior

Interior presented some use marks, but everything was taken care by my detailing partner. No before shoots, sorry, but some afters for you to better know the car.
Track14_9.png

With 1.8l engine, 6-speed transmission, lots of options and inviting interior, this car is a very interesting purchase in it's class range.

Customer's towel washed and dried (and folded), and trunk compartment stylized for a more exciting look. =

Just as curiosity, I've took this pictures of the inside door pillars.

This is the driver's side (factory look):

And this is the passenger's side (matte and bad finished):

Headlight / Taillight restoration are mandatory in my details.

Polishing Setup

After dialing my test spots, I've decided to use Rupes 21 paired with Rupes 7" Yellow Pad and Flex 3401 paired with 5" Hybrid white pad, both with Menzerna SF4000, interchangeable, whetter they fitted - Rupes for larger, flat parts, Flex for intricate designed and smallest parts.

Are you ready to go?

That's it:

So, at the end, I was very satisfied after removing those (and many others) paint blemishes and delivering the car in a better than new, and coated condition.

Hope you enjoyed watching,

Comments, critics, questions, suggestions, always, very welcome.

Thanks a lot.

Kind Regards.

Great work as always. Which polisher do you enjoy using the flex or the rupes?

Outstanding work my friend:)

Thank you so much, I appreciate your comment.

Glad you liked it. I cannot answer your question in a fair manner. I enjoy detailing, mainly (not ashamed of saying this) polishing paint process.

I may tend to 'beg for' the Rupes, because I'm forced to use the Flex more often (most cars nowadays offers diverse complex design features), I feel very confident achieving even results on concave and curves with the 3401 (and 5" hybrid pads).

That said, when I'm able to engage the Rupes on some parts, it's like I'm 'enjoying' a bit meanwhile working ahhaha

Love the Rupes, but cannot live without the Flex. Both are a pleasure to use, and will achieve the results we are all after.

Let me know if that helps.

great work, looks better than when it rolled off the showroom floor

Thanks for comments, I enjoyed a lot working on this one.

Outstanding work as usual Tato. Awesome write up as well.

Thanks Francisco.

Nice job Tato, how did you like coating?

Thanks a lot Antti. Coating application is an awesome process. You can use it on virtually any surface, and your detailing work will be covered by a durable (and glossy) layer of protection. My detailing business basis consists mainly on works like this, full detail + coating, so I really enjoy using these products and I'm a believer.

I'm aware nothing is perfect, and I also educate my customers this way. Although I can't wait for release of Black Label v2 Coatings, the product we have to date is very good for any standard we used to use for car protection.

My customers generally will come back in a routine for maintenance, and the coated cars are not only more enjoyable and easy to wash and maintain, but can be put back very close to just detailed state for very long time.

I also rely on coating Booster application / Reload, to keep the coating fresh and performing to it's best.

Hope I've answered your question,

Kind Regards.

Thank you. At first, customer's won't understand why I need to spend 3 days on their brand new cars... Love, true love, take some time!

You are really pushing out some quality work down there my friend. Keep it up!

Thank you Michael, your feedback is very welcome.

Thanks. Being helpful is the minimum I can do to payback everything AG staff, AGO members and friends did to me when I started on this business. Glad I could help you out, and please, count on me whenever needed.

Kind Regards.
