2015 RAV 4 Polished with McKee's 37 & Coated with Crystal Serum Light & EXO

Excellent review, with the new products we were eagerly waiting for more info, like the Mckee's twins, CSL and the new Carpro pad.
Thanks a lot for sharing.
All the best!

Frank, Very Nice Work!!!! Your pics show how much passion and attention to detail you have, Thank you for sharing. Looks like I will be purchasing Cquartz Dlux coating in the near future, really like the finish it left on the Plastic trim and wiper cowl. Obviously will be picking up some Mckee's 37 also.Do you mind sharing what you like to apply to the black honeycomb mesh grill and what your application process is??? You have some very lucky customers! Nice choice on the vehicle you chose for mobile detailing.

Thank you for taking the time to post such a detailed review!

Your photos and explanation of the step-by-step process you used (and why!) is very helpful. I especially appreciate your comments regarding what products were already on the truck before you started.

Very well written and your results speak for themselves...

I haven't applied anything yet to the black honeycomb mesh grill in the front of the car but I will most likely use Hydro2 because of it's ease in application - just spray Hydro2 and then rinse with water and it's sealed.

Amazing hydrophobic effect Frank!!! That's one of the reasons why I love coatings.

Thanks for the video update! I really want to try the GTechniq CSL! You're making me want one bad.

Thanks Marc!

I recently applied CSL & EXO on a new 2016 Ram 1500 truck. The truck belongs to forum member Joshwaa. Complete detail will be posted soon.

Having had more time to work with EXO, I found that EXO, though very hydrophobic, can be a little finicky to apply.

Just a few recommendations concerning applying EXO:

1. Follow the directions on the AG site and on the Gtechniq site.

2. Make sure you have the proper lighting to see any high spots.

3. Apply wet - make sure you have plenty of EXO on your pad so that it spreads evenly.

4. Spread the product on a smaller area first and then enlarge the area depending on your weather conditions.

5. Check, check and recheck the area you worked for high spots, looking at it from different angles.

Polish residue was wiped off with new Edgeless MF Polishing Cloths.

That came out great! Not easy making white pop. :props:

May I ask why you went with a different type of towel instead of the edgeless? I'm assuming the edgeless is softer, therefore would make for a better final wipedown. Speaking as a n00b, of course.

Thanks!

The fibers on the towel may crystallize or harden from the coating if the coating stays on the towel for too long. As soon as I'm done with a towel, I throw them in a bucket of water mixed with a degreaser such as: Marine 31 Polishing Pad Cleaner

I used my less expensive towels for wiping down the coating simply because they are cheaper and they still work well for that purpose. I don't want to risk ruining my better towels. Hope that makes sense.

Really useful article thank you...going to be putting CSL and EXO on a Focus RS when it arrives shortly.
Did you really add the EXO only 45 mins after the CSL? I thought my instructions said to wait 12 hours first.

Thanks

Marc

Very nice write up looks amazing! I had my wife's car treated with the crystal liquid serum light by a dealer but it looks easy enough to apply and turned out brilliant! Well done!

Amazing video! Can the exo be applied over Wolfgang liquid seal?

Exo can be applied on top of another Gtechniq coating or to bare paint to ensure you have a strong bond. You need to remove the Wolfgang liquid seal before applying Exo.

Those instructions are if applying over C1 if I remember correctly. Frank spoke to GTechniq and they said it could be applied right after.

What shampoo are you guys using after applying the coating? Is Duragloss OK to use? I wanted to buy the Gtechniq G-Wash but it is back-ordered on Autogeek. My car was coated last week and I am getting the itch to wash it :).

Almost any good quality shampoo can be used.
