Received a phone call two days after r we received 2+ft of snow, so I drove to the customers house to assess the damage.

Very deep gouges! There's nothing that can be done except a repaint to get it back to oem!

Car arrived to me with the temporary tag still on it, that's how new it was! (less than 2 weeks, driven 5 times)

There was a ton of light scratches I was able to get out, and a few moderate that can only be seen at certain angles.

Also there were light buffer trails on the hood.
Glue lines on the roof (photos with finger pointing)
Also dealer didn't remove paint dots on tires.

Overall, client was beyond happy!

Wash/iron x/clay
M105 on the scratches
Essence on entire car
Topped with reload
Tires received dp tire coating.

Great job--nice 50/50 pics. I still can't believe the customer took a shovel to clean off a brand new car!

Owner is a car enthusiast, female, and swore she was being so careful.
Further investigation showed that the shovel had a hanging piece.
The scratches are very isolated. She only used shovel to get majority of snow off, as there was 2ft on the car.

She definitely learned a hard lesson, and still beating herself up over it.

She should invest in a snow broom and not a snow shovel for this case :props:

pretty sure she purchased a snow-pro. lol

atleast she didnt do it to her 2016 lexus RX200!

I sometimes dont get people, not being rude to your client but you would take a snow shovel and risk putting it up against your paint?

with 2 feet of snow on your car, you kinda feel "safe" taking the first foot off with a shovel, then doing other things to get the remainder off.

its not like the whole shovel scraped the paint. just a part of the shovel had something hanging off a few inches. and THAT part is what scratched the car.

Sorry to say what a idiot, she had to learn the hard way.

In some way, shape or form, I'm sure we have all learned various things the hard way. Not that I would have done what your client did, but if I had, I would have dropped into the fetal position and started crying. End of the day, good thing she brought in the car....great job! Fantastic 50/50 pics.

I guess dont take the risk honestly.

exactly! us being fluent with detailing, and exactly how easy it is to damage paint, we wouldn't ever do such a thing. BUT, i'm sure we all do something that she'd never try.
and thank you for the kind words! she's brining her rx200 to me beginning of march i believe.

could also be a case of "over confidence"

Oh man. This made me feel so guilty because a few weeks ago when we got hit with the blizzard, I accidentally put a deep scratch along the bottom of the door to my Father's SVT Lightning. Last summer I did a full correction and coated it with Gloss-Coat, so I am going to wait until e warmer weather of Spring to repair the damage and re-coat.

ah man, i have a customer who has 2 svt lightings actually. one with 800whp and the other has 20k original miles. he also has 17 jeeps, and like 8 parts jeeps.

be sure to make a thread when the time comes to fix your fathers svt!

Great outcome Rich! Glad the customer was happy. I think now on she will be a bit more careful.
