I had a former customer call me stating he was buying a new vehicle and would like me to give it some protection. I told him to make sure to instruct the dealer not to prep the car and he said he already told them not to touch it. Well the dealer couldn't help themselves and put it through the swirl-o-matic wash and slopped some oil on the tires.

The owner picked up the car and drove straight to my place. We looked it over together and he decided to make it right and do a full correction and coating.

I started the detail with the tires, wheels and wells. It took a couple rounds of D108 on the tires to get the junk off that they applied. The dressing had been slinging all over the moldings.

The wheels were cleaned with GG Wheel Cleaner, Wheel Woolies and various Boars Hair Brushes. IronX was applied and then a quick wash with a CarPro IncrediFlair Mitt. Wheels were then sealed with Hydr02.

After the wheels I sprayed down the entire vehicle with IronX. This thing bled like a stuck pig.

After this thing was done bleeding I completed a 2BM wash with Optimum Car Wash and Adams Wash Pad. Upon inspection there was still a lot of contaminants that needed to be addressed and it failed the baggy test badly.

Contaminants like this were all over the paint.

I used a medium NanoSkin wash mitt to clay the entire vehicle. After the clay job I rinsed it down and dried it with my MasterBlaster and GG PFM towel.

I don't have any pictures of the before paint condition but you'll get the idea of what it was like from these pillar pics.

This dealer must run their vehicles through the swirl-o-matic often. It's hard to believe brand new cars are delivered to customers in this condition.

Next Steps:

Paint Correction / Polishing Steps
- Flex 3401 with orange LC Hybrid pads - Menz FG400
- Flex 3401 with CarPro Gloss Pads - CarPro Essence
- Rupes Mini with orange LC thin pros (GG Correcting Cream) and CarPro Gloss Pads (Reflect) were used on the pillars

LSP
- Optimum Gloss Coat - 2 coats
- Optimum Opti Seal - 1 coat on paint and trim

Tires were dressed with CarPro Perl 1:1

The owner was very happy with the results and was planning to drive back to the dealership to tell them that it now looks like it should when he drove it off the lot!

Thanks for looking. Any comments and feedback is appreciated!

Great job. The pillars came out great. Looks like they were cleaned with a Brillo pad. Hard to believe this was a new car in that condition.

Nice work. Haha on the car.....I just had a new Escape dropped off too.

Beautiful work! That is how new cars should look.

Nice work with your correction/polishing session. How do you feel the finishing step with the 3401/Gloss pads/Essence behaved? I have found it to be a bit less than a smooth buffing experience. I usually run that combo with the XFE.

Thanks for sharing.

Did you use the same process for polishing those pillars? They look incredible!

Thanks - it's fun to see the transformation

Thanks - it was nice to do a smaller vehicle for a change

Awesome work my friend!

Thanks Mike. This was the first time using the flex with gloss pads and essence - normally I use my 15MKII. I didn't have any issues and would use this combination again. Lately I've been on a Flex kick and haven't used the Rupes much at all.

I used the Rupes Mini and LC 3.5" Thin Pro's with GG Correcting Cream first and then a few passes with Reflect and Gloss Pads.

nice job. Its amazing the condition of new cars when they leave teh dealer.

Awesome job, it's horrible a dealership would do that to a new car,

Sweeeet!! Bloody shame a new car gets delivered like that. Unfortunately a lot of people wouldn't notice and/or care. We're here for the ones who do. Again, great job!!
