2017 Porsche 911, Targa 4
GT Silver Metallic
4,600 miles
I had a client drop off his pretty much brand new 911 Targa 4 for paint correction and a ceramic coating.
This beautiful silver Targa was in primo shape and only needed a light polishing after decon and prep for the coating.
This color was responding fantastically to the polishing step! It was literally glowing!!!

Process/chemicals/tools/etc:

Waterless wash with McKee’s37 914N waterless wash.
Clayed with Griot’s medium wash mitt and Dodo Born Slippery was the lube.
Rupes Mk II 21 and iBrid.
Yellow Meg’s polishing discs.
Misc. MF towels.
Adam’s APC.
McKee’s 37 914 N rinseless as panel wipe prior to coating.
GYEON Prime as LSP.
GYEON Cure was used after the coating had cured.
Adam’s glass cleaner.
McKee’s Fast Interior detailer.
Metro vacuum.
McKee’s leather conditioner.
The wheels were pulled in order to deep clean them, the calipers and wells and then coat them.
QuickJack 5000 for lifting duties.
McKee’s gel wheel cleaner.
McKee’s tire/rubber cleaner.
Daytona speedmaster brushes/misc brushes.
Adam’s shampoo.
Micro-chenille wash mitt.
Master Blaster for drying.
Kenotek Vinyl/Leather conditioner/protectant for tire dressing.
Wheels and calipers were coated with a wheel coating I am testing out.
Wells were coated with a plastic/trim coating I am testing out.
Wells/calipers were cleaned with Adam’s APC, brake cleaner and steam (McCulloch) where necessary.
Matco torque wrench for proper torqueing of the wheel studs.
Glass was polished with McKees37 glass restorer.
Glass was coated with SCG Pro glass sealant.
Exhaust tips were coated with GYEON Prime.
Exterior trim was coated with GYEON Prime.
Under the ‘frunk’ was cleaned and treated with Blackfire AIO trim/tire.
I believe I covered everything…as usual, if not, please ask and I will be happy to provide any information that I missed.
Thank you for looking and please enjoy my post!

No defect pics prior, paint was in very good shape and only needed a light polish to correct a few minor defects.

Work shots:

Sun shots after correction.

Wheel removal for coating of wheels, calipers, wells.

As always amazing work!! How did the coatings you are testing out perform compared to others that you have tried in the past?

^^^Thank you! I've used them a couple of times...like some of them, some of the other 'dedicated' ones I'm not too fond of.

Scott, awesome as usual. What are those 2 "marks" on the right fender in front of the fuel door and above the crest?

Like that it has three pedals. Very nice work, photos, and write-up.

Chris, that is the ultrasonic gel that you need to use with the Defelsko PTG.

The targa is such a nice version of this car. Great work, the silver looks nice.

Thanks again everyone! Sean: I ordered them online...I will see if I can remember where and shoot you a PM or post it here.

Scott, no need to respond. Just piling on with another "well done" comment. You're posts are like a condensed master class. We appreciate you taking the time to share with us.
