Presented by Mike Phillips & Bob Eichelberg

When running a detailing business you need to have the knowledge and skill sets to offer both types of detailing in your business model in order to cater to the wide spectrum of customers’ needs and the various types of cars they own. New tools, pads and products introduced at SEMA in November will also be introduced and showcased.

11:00am to 11:50am
Presented by Mike Phillips
Autogeek.com

Description
Mike Phillips from Autogeek shares his secret technique for becoming the recognized detailing expert in your home town to help you build a top tier customer base of affluent car owners to maximize and sustain your profits. This class shows anyone step-by-step how to reach out to the high profile car enthusiasts in every town and city, coordinate to put on a presentation for their club and establish yourself as a knowledgeable expert that can be trusted with their prize possessions. This demographic group of people tends to be affluent with more disposable income and prefer to do business with the best-in-class businesses at the top, not the bottom of market options. This is the clientele a detailer wants to go after and cultivate.

Hey Mike, will you be bringing your cordless Flex tools to MTE?

Hey Mike this is my first time, do I have to sign up somewhere for the classes or just show up for the ones that I want? I'm registered for the show.

In the past you just grabbed a seat in the class you want to attend. Just an FYI, the Education Day is a additional fee, but includes lunch.

This will be an interesting class as I will not only cover the latest in tool technology but also tool history including early pad options...

The first foam buffing pad developed by Walter Cotton in 1965

The foam is disintegrating as this buffing pad is 53 years old!

From wool pads to the first foam pad to the next foam pad on the market, (that I know of), the W-1000 Soft Buff

The backing plate was plastic and glued to the foam before the pad was turned on a lathe type machine to make sure it was true.

Note the claim that this version is the original fiber-free foam pad building off the legacy of the Wooless Wonder.

The Traditional Orbital Polisher

People describe this as the handle kind looking like a car steering wheel. It has a simple on/off button for go or no-go at one speed.

:buffing:

I am registering, and expect to be in attendance for a few of your classes.

I am interested to see you teach two classes in two different rooms at the same time! Hopefully they get the schedule finalized soon, as my 'pre-planning' gene is really kicking in!
