This brand new Hellcat widebody came to me with just 44 miles on the odometer. The dealer washed it and "detailed" it for the owner. Unfortunately they made a mess of the car. Swirl marks, buffer trails, holograms, scratches, compound splatter, greasy tire dressing flung everywhere. Start to finish this vehicle was about 70 hours in cleaning, paint correction, and ceramic coating and curing. Thankfully after all that work the car looked amazing and all the paintwork is protected for the next few years with CQuartz Finest Reserve ceramic coating. The wheels and calipers were also coated in multiple coats of CQuartz Finest Reserve. And all exterior plastics were coated in CQuartz Dlux coating to give a great look and protection for a very long time.

Getting started with putting the Hellcat up in the air and pulling off the wheels

Compound splatter from really sloppy polishing work at the dealership

The result of the sloppy polishing work.....horrific buffer trails and swirls all over the car

Haze from some DA sanding that also left its mark and was never correctly polished out

Fast forward a couple days and the wheels are done, calipers are done, wheel wells are no longer dripping in greasy tire dressing, and the paint correction process is nearing completion

How black paint should look

Engine bay tidied up and all compound splatter from dealership removed

All done! Final photos before owner takes it home

Thanks for checking it out!

Looks great now. But if that was my car I’d remove that hideous yellow stripe on the front lip.

That’s the protector for the transporter. Dealer typically removes them only are not supposed to remove them on demons

Excellent work, it looks amazing.

But I was thinking the same thing about that out of place yellow stripe, hideous is a good description.

Good, so it must go as it’s now been delivered :)

Wow...thats over the top work there!

How did you find the paint to be? Soft, hard or in between? And what products did you use during the correction steps?

Tom

Those reflection pics are unbelievable, did you use any filters on those? I am always bummed out when the paint only reflects like that at the perfect angle, distance, and light on my car

Awesome reflection and finish you got on it! Great work!

I be sad for the people who buy them a new car and then the dealership screw it up that bad.And I don't understand how the dealerships can go on with this behavior. I mean that you can sue for almost anything in the US. There is just a thin clearcoat this days you have on a car. And with that bad polishing you have to compound pretty much to get the damage gone after them. But do they get away with it they wont change their procedure.

Great that you pros is out there to help out the new car owners. And you do a very good job. It has been better if you only bad to do a finishing polish and protection on them and a small correction here and there.

Needs to go back to the dealership and shown how the BRAND NEW car is supposed to look like

I'm liking that ramp and lift set-up. Anybody know who makes that?

Tom

I asked the owner if he wanted me to remove it but he requested I leave it in place. These Challenger guys seem to like them...

Thank you Tom! This particular Hellcat was super soft. Like warm butter on the dinner table-soft.

Used Megs 205 for compounding with Megs MF pads on GG6" and 3", as well as Rupes 21's (gen 1 and 2), Rupes TA50 1" DA, Rupes 3" DA. Final polishing steps with 205 with black LC foam and then CarPro Reflect on a gloss pad.

Thanks! No filters used. Straight from the camera, not even a UV filter.

Ha! They couldn't even see the swirls or buffer trails to start with. I'd send them to the eye doctor first to get glasses, THEN show them the car ;)

The lift is a Bendpak MD-6XP.

The ramps are totally custom made. 1/4" aluminum, with gussets underneath for added strength. All cut out on waterjet and with 30hrs of tig welding. Solid enough to park a Mac truck on it.

Wow! The new Widebody SRT Hellcat looks awesome. Great job correcting the paint surface on this beast. Keep up the great work!

If you get a chance---can you send me the measurements of the ramps? Width, height and length?
Really dig that set up!!

^^ this. It blows me away to see that many swirls on a brand new car. Thankfully the ones I've encountered haven't been nearly that bad. I do work for a local Ford Dealer as all they do to new car deliveries is remove plastic, wash and spray wax them.

#1. The car looks phenomenal
#2 I was going to ask about the ramp set up
#3 DAMN ! ramps are legit... couldnt imagine what it would cost to replicate
