I was recently contacted by one of my customer’s who just purchased this Matte black G wagon because he wanted it Ceramic coated. He was worried about it adding shine to the finish and was adamant about not wanting any gloss on it.
I have coated wrapped vehicles but never OEM matte paint. Especially on a numbered vehicle that cost this much.
I spoke with a few coating manufacturers about which coating would be best suited for my customer’s needs. I also got some help from Michael (Guz) which helped me out. Thanks man.
My process was this.
-cleaned tires with Omni Clean
-cleaned wheels with Reset
-foam bath with Reset
-2BM with Reset
-3 coating prep wipe downs
-coated all matte area with GYEON Q2 Matte
-coated gloss black items with UK3.0
-coated wheel faces with Q2 Matte
-IR cured
-topped with Q2 Matte Cure
-dressed tires with McKee’s Si02
