Client was interested in protecting his new C8. Coated it up!
Paint was in very good shape when it arrived, minor swirls and defects. Factory paint is thin, and full of texture. Not what you’d expect from a brand new factory/model/paint system from Chevrolet.
Cleaned up well and the color looks great!

The ‘details’:
Gary Dean shampoo.
McKee’s37 iron remover.

Griot’s Fast correcting cream.

CarPro PERL tire dressing.
Ranger QuickJack.

Thanks for looking!

Love it, looks wicked

Boy that's thin, would still have to imagine it has 50 microns of clear on it.

Thanks! Super glossy!!! Cool looking cars, still growing on me a bit!

Yep, THIN right from the get go.

I'm not surprised one bit by the thin paint, everything about the car is "budget", now we have this info.

Your obviously a Porsche guy Sizzle and have detailed many, so you've been up close and personal with them and now you've detailed this "Supercar" and I have a question...how does this car REALLY stack up against a 911, whether it's a Carrera, Carrera S, 4S, Turbo/S from a stand point of fit/finish, material quality, etc. I'm sooooo tired of hearing "its half the price of its competition", taking price out of it, how does it REALLY compare...your expert opinion

The looks of this thing will never grow on me, EVER! They had decades to blow people away with the 1st mid-engine Corvette and it was said best by Savagegeese on a podcast..."it looks like a Chinese knock off supercar". Speaking of calling it a Supercar....please, just stop already, its embarrassing

Is the paint finish (texture) as bad as the C7s were? The C7s were some of the worst factory paint finishes I have ever seen.

Thanks all. Yep, as bad if not worse than the C7's.

Klasse: You know the saying, you get what you pay for.

Interior is nice, leaps and bounds above the C6's of yesteryear, but the quality isn't there IMO. Little things-the interior stitching isn't stitched straight, worse on the passenger side than the drives side. Things like that. The paint is the biggest issue I see, it is really textured, thin, but it has nice color choices and the panel fit is pretty good.

I tend to agree that they had time to wow everyone with this car, but it looks rushed/incomplete.

I think the wheels look very small. They are 20's, but look small. It is a BIG WIDE vehicle.

Sounds great, excellent performance, and we will see what the future holds for the mid-engined C8!

My opinion about the car is based on the fact that the car was green lighted in the end of the 2000's but the economy took a dump, so it was shelved, pulled out of the back of the fridge, warmed up a bit and served to the customers. You commented on how wide it is...got fit those golf clubs because they sure know their buyers and I'm sorry, a sports car is an impulse buy and the fact you made sure clubs fit back there ruined the looks of this car...IM not so humble O. Now I know rims are subjective but seriously, not a single wheel option looks "OMG", are choosing wheel options this hard....well, not if your Porsche I guess

Ditto, piss poor.

C5 and up vetts have always been absolutley a very good bang for your buck. They are all around wicked cars and minus the c8, the c5, 6 & 7 are simple to work on and very easy to get a ton of power out of.

Great looking work, as always.

My wife drove one. I told her she had to at least try one before replacing her Boxster with a Cayman. She didn't hate it. She wants a stick rather than paddle shifters. She wasn't able to push it hard or take it on a road that would let her get feel the handling at speed. Her take is that the muscle is nice, but that she believes a Cayman with some suspension options will out corner the R8. This is maybe more preference on her part. Also a $25K+ price difference, so maybe not unexpected. She thought the braking was not great (she brakes hard). Don't recall if it had the brake upgrade. The car seems like an excellent value.

I'm guessing the C8 if you want amazing power and good handling. Cayman if you want handling like a go cart and good power. Guessing the 911 would be similar, but closer on the power (depending on model and options).

•Just as I consider all Corvettes to be
as quintessentially American as it gets...
-I also consider you, Sir, as being the
embodiment of the quintessential Detailer.

•Yes, ‘Scott(y)’, IMO:
-you have Detailing down to a science!

Thank you so much for that Bob! Really appreciate it.

As far as performance/bang for the buck goes, the C8 really hit it dead on. Look at the 0-60 numbers stock! WOW! And it has power to spare, handles excellent. And to think that an American manufacturer is producing something like this, that, can/should/could/would compete with others in a much higher price bracket, is awesome.

Let's see what happens when the ZO6 comes out...

A beautiful thing I say

Maybe I am too old school.... While the C8 has the European supercar look to it , it just doesnt feel like an American Corvette. All previous gens were very distinctive and they all screamed "American muscle".

To Scotty...
