This is a short review of this year's show. Now last year had only half of the McCormick center being used (previous years BOTH sides being used) so the show was much smaller

Alot of mfgs have decided to use social media sites/reviewers to debut cars these days, it's sad because there's nothing like seeing them "in the metal" as they say. This year I didn't see Mercedes, Audi, Porsche there, nor small companies like Mitsubishi. I also noticed a significant reduction in concept cars and waaaaay less people talking about cars on a stand

This used to be the biggest auto show in the country, not anymore and there's so many non-car vendors there selling a bunch of sh!t that it looks more like a flea market, even cheap detailing products were being sold...I couldn't be bothered

So here's a couple pics from the show...enjoy

Before we even got the show we pulled in behind THIS at Dunkin Donuts

First thing we saw at the show, this one of 86, giving hints at the next Celica possibly! Has the druvetrain from the GR Corolla (GR Yaris in other markets). I think THIS thing was AWESOME

KIA concept vehicle and future Honda Passport, Honda nailed the looks here

More to come, stay "tuned"....

Reminds me of going to the Sydney International Motor Show back in the day. Checking out what I would or wouldn't buy. 3 vehicles I eventually bought, used, I first saw there. My Crewman Cross 8, the Commodore Sportswagon, and of course the FJ. They even had an outside 4WD track for a few years, but you were driven around by their drivers. I even got used as a "model" there once, they needed someone big to demonstrate the third row seating in a Landrover Discovery (LR4), so they picked someone really tall, and someone wide(me), fun times.

I even got free tickets one year, including a parking pass, from Honda. We had a Honda training facility next door and they had a Goldwing come in, it was in a big cage and they couldn't lift it off the truck, so I helped them with our forklift.

Did you do the ride along with the electric Charger? It was crazy, it sounds just like a V8. Seems a little silly for an EV but it was very cool. The Dodge guy told us an ICE version is coming later this year.

No I didn't do the ride along. Yeah the did it backwards, EV first, gas last, there's going to be so many EV Chargers on the lots when gas ones come in might do a free EV Charger with purchase of gas Charger

An inline 6 with a pair of snails hangin' off it will make big power once the tuners get involved, no online purchase to have added power sent OTA to your EV Charger, ridiculous

I actually made the road trip up to the Chicago Auto Show a couple times with my oldest daughter back in the late 2000's early 2010's. We were actually there for the debut of the Toyota FJ Cruiser! Great memories.

I don't bother with auto shows any more. Our local show is really pathetic, I'm not in the market to buy anything at the moment, and honestly there is very little on the market that interests me. I don't find an endless sea of SUV's and trucks interesting, and I've seen most of the interesting performance stuff I can afford for a couple years now.
