I've been reading a lot about this and I see a lot of people saying that they do the foam canon and rinse then they do a 2bm wash. My question is if your going to do a 2bm wash then why not just skip the foam canon step?

The foam cannon is a presoak. It loosens the caked on dirt to pretty much eliminate the possibility of scratching during the wash process. Both methods combined ensures you are using the safest wash method possible.

K... Thanks! So if you get a car that is garage kept and not very dirty you could possibly skip the foam canon and go straight to 2bm?

Or if your vehicle is not very dirty and you have the right snow foam product, the foam cannon step (combined with a pressure washer) can greatly negate or eliminate the need for the 2BM.

So say you guys have let your show/prized car sit in the garage for a few weeks and have only driven it a few times (Short distances) and it just has a coating of dust/pollen, would you skip the foam cannon step and just go into the 2 Bucket Wash?

Or would it be safer on a prized car to do the cannon anyway to help remove the pollen/dust before the 2 bucket method?

Well often when I have just had a coating of dust. I have noticed that the first rinse with the pressure washer will clean everything off the LSP. Now the problem with washing a car is that majority of swirls are put in by drying. If you don't have an air dryer, foaming, rinsing and drying with a towel is a bad idea IMO.

A small coat of dust is a good setting for a waterless wash no?

Foam wouldn't be needed. Or like above, a rinseless or waterless wash would me more than sufficient.
