Wife and I decided to take a holiday vacation from Home to Detroit - Windsor - Buffalo - Toronto and back to Southern Illinois. Just light snow here and there, temps until the last day were quite similar to what we were having in Southern Illinois so it was rather pleasant. This was a 'see the country' type trip with most decisions made at the last minute. Love those kind.

Awesome trip, thought I'd share a couple of pictures taken yesterday before we got home and I pulled out the pressure washer to get at least some of this stuff off. I'm going to have to do a 2 bucket ONRWW wash in the garage as it is now about 20 f outside and not looking much better perhaps worse later this week.

The roof, trunk and hood were not as bad as the sides, wheels, rear and wheels, but it had a fine salt dust all over those areas. After the PW last night it was a lot better but still a heavy film of crap on it. I have an undercarriage attachment but the car is so low that I think I'd need to use 2 ramps on one side to tilt it up to really flush under it. The reqar bumper was lightly brushed up against when it was wet and looks much worse than it is I think.

Nervous about the wash, but it has OC 2.0 so hope I'm good there to some degree.

Awesome, sounds like you guys had a great time.

You should post more pictures such as the cleanup, what was used, the afters etc.

Nice trip, i did something like that back when i had a Rav4. It was terrible :(

The car isn't too bad after all these miles, a week driving in Chicago my black wheels were completely white. I'll dig up a pic soon.

I'll get some more up, the onr may not be until the weekend due to schedules.

My black truck looked about as white as your car after an 80 mile trip (one way) on New Year's Eve.

Glad you had a good trip!

Where in Southern IL are you? I have family around Newton IL

after the PW wash with an MTM Hydro and CG Citrus W&G.

Yes just do panel at a time. rub the mitt against the grit guard.

They are saying 10-14. We are in the big nasty purple bullseye. We have some family in Normal, were there for a day on the way back this time.

Did a 2BM ONRWW wash last night, got the basement floor pretty wet so decided to get the wheels and front end today. Try to post some pics later today. Car was nastier than I thought. Lots of salt attached to the inside fender wells.

I'm surprised your car's wheels and suspension survived the drive through our lovely Michigan roads. Hope you enjoyed your trip and didn't think too negatively of the desolation and abandonment of Detroit.

Hardcore Pawn, Dearborn Truck plant, the Joe Louis Fist and a drive down 8 mile just for kicks.

I grew up just south of 8 mile, been to Hardcore Pawn but never the truck plant. The fist is cool, represents the D well. Did you stop and get a coney dog?

Glad you got it cleaned up Marc! Sounds like quite a trip. Hope you don't get snowed in too bad the next few days.

Well I did get really good at seeing and dodging potholes. Managed not to take any really good hits so I think the alignment is intact. I'll admit there was a lot of the abandonment and depressing sights but it's home for a lot of people so it's their place to live and work.
