3" griots garage pad issues?

I've bought a couple 3" hydros and some 5.5's.. the only options auto geek offered. I just noticed that they were measured by width and height as opposed to most companies only measuring by width

Are these the pads you guys are talking about?

I was considering them because I thought they had the same kind of sturdy heat resistant velcro utilized on the new Boss pads. Plus I like the fact that they have a 4" face w/3" backing.. But from what I've been reading, they suck?

So which pads are the ones they're talking about? I don't see any others. And those in the link look like they'd be pretty sweet?
 
How do the GG 4 inch orange pads stack up to the Rupes 4 inch green? My Rupes green pads did not hold up as well as I thought they should. Sorry to the OP for hijacking the thread, but since the GG pads were being discussed...
