3-inch Meg's Micofiber Discs on a 7424?

How effective/safe are Meg's Microfiber cutting discs on a 7424. I'd plan to use them for only spot repair. If using Meg's Correction Compound what is the suggested speed setting?

The 3" mf pads will work great on the 7424. The original pads were prone to delaminating but Meguiars now produces these in the USA and seems to have the problem solved. I run mine in the 4-5 1/2 range.

Another question related to the 3-inch Meg's discs....Can I use a Lake Country 3-inch backing plate or do I need to order the rather pricy Meg's 3-inch backing plate? I don't plan to use the 3-inch discs very often.
