3 vehicles you hate detailing

FJ Cruisers are on my short list. The back of that thing is ridiculous to polish by machine.

Lifted full-size trucks, too. I hate having a truck to detail that won't even fit in the garage.

My next car. No clear coat. No base coat. Polished aluminum. The stripes are polished more.

If you don't have REAL money, this won't be your next car. Sorry to break the news to you.

As soon as you start polishing all that aluminum, you'll be begging for paint.

Boats! I think that is the only thing on my list. I have a couple boats that I detail every few months, one being a 24' SeaRay that is docked in Boston Harbor. Thing has so many compartments and just seems like the never ending project.

Big trucks as well, but not so much.

hahaha, no thanks!!

I would still do this kind of stuff if I won the lottery.

i would too, because i don't think anyone has the attention to detail i have...but i wouldn't necessarily enjoy it. it's torturous to basically obsess about perfection, but i think that there is no other way if you truly want something to be as good as it can be. maybe it's part sickness, and that is why i find it so mentally tiring, but i also credit such tendencies to why things look so damn good when i'm done working on them, no matter what it is. and that is the only reason i do it - the final product.

problem with that is if you won the lottery you'd have a lot of new cars or toys to detail!! You'd have yourself a full time job just with your own stuff!

Do you like cottages?

I'd prefer a beach house, but a cottage could be a nice change of pace from Florida living. As long as you provide the chemicals and tools; my choice of course, we can make a deal. Reminder, given my choice, your real money would run short real quick.

3 or 4 tubs of Zymol Solaris Glaze, all the swissvax products, an RO system set up off a heating system, Makita, Flex, Cyclo, GG, Dewalt, and Dynabrade polishers, compressor, vapor steamer, carpet extractor, every compound and polish imaginable, every product AG carries and a plethora of microfiber and pads (for every conceivable occasion) could get a little bit pricey. I hope you can afford to invest 100+K to your detailer's quarters down the road. I'd enjoy cleaning your abundance of cars everyday, just don't forget to feed your detailer or he won't be able to achieve 100% correction on your collection.

Do you actually love using a rotary for hours at a time?:bolt:

If I had REAL MONEY, you'd be living in a cottage on my estate. Your only job would be to keep my vehicles impeccably detailed. I don't have real money, so I have to do it myself.

How I look at it is this: I don't go to the gym... ever. So I have to get exercise somehow, and what better way to do that than using polishers and other detailing tools for hours on end? I would even go so far as to say that I'm probably in better shape physically than some people who go to the gym as a result of what I do working on cars.

I suppose you could say that as a result AG is my personal trainer.... :buffing:

Yeah, I did a detail over the weekend, and I was definitely breathing heavy (aerobic) and my muscles were sore by the end of the day.

Hate to break it to you, but $87,000 plus a a Shelby aluminum 427 side oiler and a Top Loader transmission (about $135,000 complete) ain't real money!

Larry Ellison has REAL MONEY. The Kirkham brothers built a cost-no-object Cobra replica at his request: A billet aluminim 427SC. Yes, the chassis was completely re engineered in billet. $1 Million. Billet 427 Book | Kirkham Motorsports
