Hey guys, quick question, when I first used the 340 I remember that the BP really grabbed on to the pads, it was almost hard to pull the pad off the BP, but now, they come off almost too easy, and there was one time that while using a white pad the pad actually shifted a bit while using it, ( I notice it had moved a bit because it started vibrating )

Is there any thing I should do to the BP? I have only done 2 cars with it.

I would think this has more to do with the Velcro material on the pad rather than the back plate...

I used a new pad after I notice this and it was not gripping as it used to when I first used it, that is why I was guessing the problem was with the backplate.

Hook and Loop wears out on the rough side (backing plate side) over time. Those jooks are little "J"'s that straighten out with time when you pull the velcro apart.

The solution is to buy a new BP with fresh "J" hooks that aren't tired.

I get the impression that his polisher is relatively new because he's only done 2 cars with it. I've used mine allot this summer and the backing plate is still like new.

Well yeah, for how new it is neither side of the velcro should be worn.

Maybe he just acquired hulk like strength from those two cars he did.

Yeah, I just got my 3401, it got here last week, and I have only done my friends car, and mine, I'm not a pro at all, (Far from it) and my flex and PCXP will see very little use, but comparing to how well it help the pad, and how easy it is to remove it now, I think something might be up...
