3401 or pe-14?

Well after reading this tread and even asking some questions as well I think I will lean towards the PE-14. I have used it and I liked it I just had a hard time deciding just like the OP. What I really like is its versatility and pad selections.

I already have two PC orbitals and I think the next step will be a rotary this way I dont have to borrow my friends all the time!

I'm using an" extension" to position the pad a little farther away from the polisher so I can more easily see where the edge of my buffing pad is on the panel.

Does Auto geek sell this extension..under what heading?

I have a Flex PE 14-2 so I would like to give you my opinion as well. I do not own a DA. I learnt to polish with a rotary. IMHO there is not such a big learning curve on a rotary. Although I would love to have a 3401 and I'm planning to get one, my primary purchase was the PE 14-2. Since you already have TWO. DAs I wouldnt think twice on getting the PE 14-2. It's an amazing tool that combines correction ability and light weight. You will enjoy it tremendously.

The other important thing is what kind of use you have for it ? Are you detailing professionally ? If yes.... Then this whole thread should not even have be started :laughing:You should have got one YESTERDAY.

If you re not detailing proffesionally then you should still get it as you will never need to buy another rotary for at least the next 15 years ...

Rotary for quick cutting of sanding marks and heavy nasty swirls and for jewelling, Then use your 2 DA for everything else.
