3D Bead It Up

I'm with you dude. Mike is the Corvette King. I used my, "Stir stick I keep on me all the time." Today when I did a maintenance wash on our Jeep. :whs:

:bump:

This product has been out for a while now, does anyone have experience with it? 3D says it's an effective ceramic coating topper, but I'm also curious how it effects something like 3D Speed. Please share your experiences!

I used it as a follow up to 3D's Ceramic coating.

Very easy to apply. IMO it adds gloss and slickness and is a great compliment to the ceramic coating. It does not mask the hydrophobic properties of the coating like some products do.

I probably wouldn't use it as a standalone product but I haven't used it enough to make up my mind. Just so many products out there.

Awesome, thanks for sharing. Not that I need more toppers... But I always want more toppers. If it works well on ceramic then I may just give it a try.

How is the beading with this one? lol
It is supposed to rain here in a day or two...will post up a shot for ya when that happens

Was told by 3D an article/review should be up soon on the other site for Bead It Up. They claim it is more hydrophobic than most other Si02 sprays. Time will tell.

This is during some rain, beading shot from bead it up.

The truck is dirty mind you

Looks good especially considering the truck is dirty.

Someone really botched this up.

Not sure you can see the video but on the 3D Instagram page they took 3D Bead It Up and sprayed then rinsed it off. Looked absolutely awful. It's not even meant to be used like that.

They also removed all of the critical posts people were making about it.

Looked good to me. The water was pooling up, and making its way off the paint.

I used to obsess over water behavior.

After seeing the damage it can do, and considering the time I wasted chasing it, I'm over it.

As long as I can visibly see the water sliding off the paint somehow, I'm good.

After seeing all the countless videos of product testing where beading is the only criteria, it's beginning to feel a bit "cult-ish". I would say trendy, but it's been going on for decades.

I can say for certain that at this point, I would prefer sheeting action.

I don’t disagree with this sentiment but then the name would be Sheet It Up. Actually, that would be a good name and greatly help in the marketing as you’d have to change mindshare that as you mentioned has been going for decades. Would be interesting to see if it were successful but the marketing materials would be easy to make a compelling case against beading. Doesn’t mean it would sell well but it very well could.

I agree, I like the sheeting abilities of products more. Maybe they should call it "Sheet it up"

What I find interesting though is you can't have one without the other. In other words, dump a bucket of water on to a surface and it will run off very fast. Spray it with a sprayer and it will bead.

I agree, but im seeing this as just anotger way for them to market the product.

For ppl that want a splash of protection just by spritzing it on a wet vehicle then rinsing off. That way theres no extra time involved in the whole wiping down.

Personally i wouldnt use it that way but, from a marketing standpoint, it could appeal to folks that arent as into this game deep like we are

It does look rather pitiful given the name is bead it up. Their social media person should have known better.
