I am thinking about getting the 3D HD Speed polish with 6 Green BS Pads for a first time detail. My question is what do you finish with? I know it is an AIO, would you still finish with a coat of wax/sealant or just let it ride? If so, what wax or sealant works well with the 3D HD Speed?

Thanks,

HD Poxy works for me, it's the same sealant in the Speed

HD Speed is awesome stuff! Since HD Speed is a mixture of HD Poxy and HD Polish - I'd suggest topping it with extra layer of HD Poxy. :dblthumb2:

HD Speed is good as a standalone but there are a few options:

- HD Poxy
- HD Nitro Seal (my personal favorite)
- HD Express

Not sure why you'd buy HD Speed with the intent to use a wax/sealant on top of it. It's an AIO. If you have a wax or sealant that you prefer to use, I'd just get HD Polish which is an excellent polish.

This is a good point. You'll get a bit more cut with HD Polish. Top HD Polish with HD Poxy.

A recent post by David Fermani brought up something even more interesting. He said that Speed was a proprietary blend of Cut, Adapt, and Polish with the addition of Poxy. I haven't abused HD Speed yet as I have with HD Polish, but I know what Polish is capable of.

I'm thinking the new HD Polish PLUS may be a comb of Cut, Adapt and Polish. Therefore, with the addition Poxy, it would make HD Speed. I could be dead wrong. Maybe Speed is its own blend.

It was posted as a response where people constantly claim Speed is just filling. I'll check in with the man and see if we can get some clarification. This is great info for not only the OP but any one reading the thread considering HD Speed.

HD speed isn't just s combo of HD polish and HD Poxy. It's got some other goodies in it which imo look better than HD polish topped with HD Poxy.

HD Polish "+" has been tweaked to only reduce dusting that some people occasionally experienced. The cutting, finishing and work times are completely the same. In fact, you won't even notice the difference other than the reduced/lack of dust.

Like what?

HD Speed is a proprietary blend of technologies from Cut, Adapt, Polish & POXY. It's more than just an AIO and can perform many duties like paint cleansing, gloss enhancement, paint protectant, final polishing and can also act as a primer for other HD/3D protectants. I personally finish all my correction jobs with Speed unless I'm using a coating. I also feel that POXY over Speed looks better than POXY over Polish so feel free to use either as you see fit.

Not sure if the link to this video will work, it is from 3D products Facebook page about HD Speed. In it, it says run the machine fast for polishing, slow for sealant. Does that mean I should make a couple passes with the machine turned up, then a couple passes with it down, or just a few passes with up if I want to polish and seal?

I played with HD Speed today on my wife's 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe today. I used my GG6 on speed 5.5. It turned out great, I really like this stuff.

Top with Poxy, stay within the HD family. And I use Speed with Orange Buff and Shine Pads. I'm thinking green will not be aggressive enough to get the results you may be expecting. And the orange pads finish down very well.

Did the BMW with Rupes Duetto HD Speed and Orange B & S Pads. They finish down just fine too.

IIRC, Mike Phillips recently went over his truck with Speed after a wash to give it a little "something something." Start to finish about 1.5 hours.
