I REALLY try to avoid polishing in full sun(no shade). I had no choice this weekend. 3D ONE worked very well!! Due to it being well lubricated, it did not dry out on the paint. Used it with HDO Orange foam and the Flex 3401. It removed the majority of the swirls and brought back the shine and gloss. Wipe off was good, considering the paint was hot. Couldn't see any hazing or towel marring. It is a bit oily, but I'm beginning to see this as a benefit.

He did a jet ski with 3D One and Blue Rupes foam pads in the sun yesterday. Great cut, great gloss, easy to use.

Once broken in, those bug scrubber like pads cut and finish like a dream. Just wish they were more durable.

Thanks, Dan! When you say broken in, do you mean after a few passes, or longer than that?

What color was the vehicle?
Black. Didn’t have time to get any close ups. Side note, on really soft non-metallic black, there's other products that finish better in 1-step. This paint was medium. Definitely not on the hard side.

Yep.

He has a habit of using them till they die, and his was pretty beat up, but still worked great. He likes those on oxidized surfaces, otherwise he switches to a fiber pad to cut.

I've had those pads mar paint on the test spot, before I learned the priming technique Rupes demonstrated.

I use the Rupes priming method as well. I think it would be even more important with the blue HDO.

Yes. I started using 3D One this spring and I noticed the amazing lubrication this product has! I am used to Meguiars products that tend to dry very quickly in the sun, and I must say so far I absolutelly love 3D One.

The HDO tends to be more forgiving for me, but the ironic thing is that splatter from the Rupes blue coarse foam comes from the huge open cells, and from the blue HDO - the cells being so tight, the liquid has nowhere else to go.

3D one os replacing my Meguiar's for all outside jobs. Last summer the dust was driving me insane.

I hate dust too ;) One thing, you have to degrease a lot more with 3D one. Meguiar's products are usually water based so they wipe up easier. But I think the trade of is worth it when working outside.

The Optimum Paint Prep should do the trick when applying the Gloss Coat, but for 111, I just apply it.
