3M Paint Protection Film

Has anyone got the 3M Paint Protection Film done on their car? I thinking about getting it done on my new car to protect against rock chips. Does the film turns yellow in few years?

Any recommendation?

I've got it on two of my three cars. I live in Nebraska where they put down a gravel/salt mixture when it snows. I really helps keep the front of the hood and mirrors free of rock chips. The car I don't have it on is really bad, the other two show no such damage. I wax it just like I do the paint.

I hear that over time they all yellow and then brown. Not as easily noticed on darker cars, but I have been relucant to try because of the many warnings. Seems UV does alot of harm to it longterm.

Also, my concern is whether the paint will look different from hood to the rest of the car once I remove the film after few years. My car color is Flint Mica (dark gray).
