40 Professional detailers join forces to preserve American history!

Hey Joe,

This is a great post and what a treat for some. I'm a history buff and I can just imagine how honored it must be to work on these aircraft.

I also see that everyone using a rotary machine and wool pads!! :props:

Fantastic Photos!!

I agree and it makes me proud to see this type of dedication.
I believe it was stated that the FLEX XC3401 was used though.

That is correct. Everybody used the FLEX 3401. I was the only person there with a rotary. I do not own a XC3401 so I brought my FLEX PE-14 with a dynabrade attachment on it as seen in this pic.

Wow, I'm truly in awe of the team taking this on and keeping history, that is worth keeping alive.

I congratulate every team member and say thanks for a job well done :dblthumb2:

What a great idea! I've seen the 707 and it NEEDED you guys. This is just a uber cool thing to do. Thanks to everyone involved for keeping important pieces of history looking like they just rolled off the line.

Joe, what a great post! FYI, it was a pleasure working with everyone on the team. This was such a awesome experience for us and really looking forward to working with you all again sometime. BTW, Travis says hello and that he really missing your humor on the job. He say's you really made it fun!

Wow, awesome work! I thought detailing giant freight trucks (I think that's what they are called, the one that Optimus Prime transforms to) was a lot of work.

-Do planes need LSP/protection?
-Wheres Mike Philips? Busy?
-How much does it cost to be hired to detail a plane?! (you can post this on your resumes for future clients!)

Wow! You guys did an amazing job. Hard to imagine how much work goes into something like that. I was looking through the list of people who worked on the project and someone from my home town was on the list. I thought that was even crazier lol.

"Perry Barentine
Leprechaun Car Wash,
Dublin, Ga."

I do not believe I have ever met him but still cool that someone from such a small town shows up on something like this.

Wonderful work guys.
I really got a kick out of the guy lying inside the engine to polish the spinner. Wish there had been an "after" close up of it.

But where were the Cyclos? I thought that was what the Air Force One crew used to polish the aluminum on it.

As someone else asked, how many gallons of product were used in the job?

That was amazing. I can only imagine how many gallons of polish and bengay went into the job. That looks like some grueling work.

Sorry, No Cyclos. All was done with the Flex. I don't know exactly how much polish was used on the planes, but it didn't seem like that much. Maybe Joe from "Superior Shine" can chime in and give that info.

If you ever get a chance to get over to his shop, you'll be glad you did. Awesome guy!

Absolutely fantastic work! God has really blessed you Joe and I pray it continues :dblthumb2:.
