I'll be doing a review on this shortly as I found this locally, actually, My Dad did :). With all the + posts about it's durability but somewhat difficulty in applying and removing...I'm curious. Stay tuned. Not sure what it's going on. I have my brother in law's 2010 Ford Escape in Silver I'm likely going to do a quickie on...Maybe I'll try it on that. :)

If you're referring to Collinite 476 then yes, it's a bit of a challenge to apply and remove.

Collinite 476 is what I'd call a traditional old style wax. It's somewhat hard but once I get it on the panel and begin working it in the a dual action polisher it warms up and spreads evenly.

I do one panel at a time before moving on to the next. It's pretty time consuming and is allot of hard work but once you've finished buffing a gorgeous shine's left behind..

Sorry, collinite 476s, yes. I have 845 as well but I've only tried a tiny section on my honda's hood. I didn't know about the "leave it in water to thin it out". LOL,I applied it when it was rather "Chunky". I've worked with things like 476s before so it won't be anything new to me. If it's a pita to work with BUT it lasts...that is fine by me. I'd much rather that, as opposed to applying an "Easy on, Easy off" product that lasts one rain storm. No product names mentioned, but I've been less than impressed by quite a few of them. Thank you BobbyG!

I have used a plastic putty knife to scrape a small amount from the can and then smeared on a blue LC pad. About a pea size spread over a few areas. I run the PC at 4+. It spreads easily and uniformly. Not any more work than Collinite 845. I did two cars over July 4th. One with 476 and the other 845, both over Klasse HGS. Very pleased.

Funny how this product line, and Zaino require THIN coats for best results and less aggravation. I've put Zaino on so thin, I didn't even think I was covering a panel.

I couldn't help myself and applied it to the rooftop of my brother in law's silver 2010 ford escape. I used a cotton applicator(old meguiars one) and probably applied it thin enough. Like a lot of you have said...I did one half of the roof, applied it to the other half then wiped it off after a few minutes. I don't see a problem using this stuff at all. The micro fiber towel took it right off with no fuss or profanity. And boy is it slick!! this is an outdoor vehicle so it needs good protection. The rest of it has ZAIO(zaino all in one) drying, then I'll hit it with a coat of clear seal or Z5. Depending how the collinite holds up, maybe I'll smear some on the rest of the vehicle. No complaints whatsoever! If that's what it takes to get a durable protection coat for the winter, I'm down! :)

Collinite 476 and 845 require a different mind set than what we are use to. We are so use to over-applying alot of product that was forgiving, and just wiped off. Once we are told to apply it very thin we have to stop and rethink the process. Takes alittle practice but, its well worth it (476/845), its considered a winter wax in the north.

Thanks MI Mike!
I ended up using 476S on the whole vehicle. It was very easy to use. Hopefully I let it "set-up" long enough(A few minutes). Very user friendly and the gloss looked mint!(I'll take some pics tomorrow). I looked at it outside and with the brinkmann xenon light. No issues with smearing or anything like that. I grabbed a bottle of water and took a few swigs then spilled a little on the finish. Simply "WOW". It literally ran off so fast! I can't wait to see how the durability is in a few months :). My Sister has a Mazda tribute which needs a bit of TLC. I'll probably seal that one up with Collinite also. Thanks!

Here are a few photos of the vehicle with 476S. I washed/clayed it. Used a small amount of 3m general purpose adhesive remover on stubborn spots that clay wouldn't touch. Zaino All In One(ZAIO) by hand. Then topped it off with 476S. It really was no problem to use and here are some pictures in the sun. I saw no holograms, swirls, streaks or anything unusual! Love the easy maintenance of silver and yes, LOL, I couldn't help myself and dripped a little water from the bottle on to the paint. This stuff is SUPER slick.
