So, besides listening to my neighbors fire off their weapons every night for a week, and me sleeping with my motorcycle helment on, I always enjoy watching the Nathans World Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest :hungry:

What are some of your traditions?

I have none. This is the first 4th in many years I am home with family.

Well then gather the family around @ 11:00am eastern time and tune into ESPN. Its very entertaining watching someone jam 72 dogs down their piehole in 10 minutes

Glad your able to be with family today James

Going to my in laws where I always get enlisted to man the bbq. Then off to watch local

fireworks! Happy 4th everyone.

Runs to MD to score illegal fireworks from the factory and Major discounts. Then having the neighborhood come out and watch my "amateur" display! A recent tradition has been the police officer wanting to put on a show at his house for free :( damn confiscating with out any paperwork.

Enjoy the 4th guys!

Is that a candy?

I know nothing about illegal fireworks

Mississippi state line here I come. See you in 10 :bolt:

Not to be a party pooper....Each year (to this point anyway) I celebrate another year of continuous sobriety. In 2005 I tried really hard to make it to the 4th of July party but was all partied out by the 2nd of July, where I said enough is enough and quit.

Each 4th of July weekend I reflect on another year of progress and think of ways to make the next year even better. It has pretty much become my new years day. I treat myself to something that I enjoy and try to relax for the weekend.

Major congrats Dave! Sounds like the best tradition going!

Our Tradition;

Marinate a full rack of ribs for 24hrs starting on the 3rd. Fire up the grill on the 4th, slow cook until tender, added to the plate is potato salad, watermelon and grilled corn on the cob. When unable to waddle back to the grill for more, find a chair and wait for the fireworks...lol

Those look yummy :hungry:

Good for you Dave

I too spent far to many holidays drunk or drugged up myself. I am eternernally greatfull to those who didn't give up on me. Especially Jesus Christ

Yea, usually one or two end up vomiting them up. To me, that just makes it all the more reason to watch

Flash - are you familiar with the GIECO commercial about living under a rock. :D Smores = melted marshmellow and chocolate between graham crackers. A campfire favorite.

Two of my weakness are spelling and being a little bit gullible at times. I do like the caveman dude though

Major congrats Dave! Sounds like the best tradition going!

Major congrats indeed  (<<< chocalate milkshakes)

Ok,tv is ready for the hot dogs!

It actually comes on @ noon (eastern time) I get as confused as a cow on asto turf trying to figure out time zones :bash:

Yep, watching it now. That chick ate 40 hot dogs! That is gonna be one hell of a crap later.

Having a cookout and having my kids over to celebrate the 4th of July. Gorgeously sunny and warm today so I think I'll kick back and help my youngest detail her car...
