5/8" adaptors

Does anyone know if the Edge 3000 industrial 5/8" adaptor works the same as the System One 5/8" adaptor for rotary ? I know there both 5/8" shafts but will the pads inter-change with the snap off, snap on.
 
After seeing the video, this is a must have item. Will they design on for the PC also ??? (video and size comment seem to suggest so)

Figures, just ordered two of the "old" version a few weeks back. The industrial one looks MUCH nicer. Might have to pick one up anyways and use the others a backups.
 
I have the new industrial adapter and it is definetly a much better design.

We have no plans to make this adapter for the PC for a few reasons. The adapter for the PC is not an industrial application that needs such a positive grip. We have already upgraded the PC adapter a few times and have not had failures of the latest version which has been on the market for a few years. We also unconditionally guarantee them for life so if you have a problem you will get a new one no questions asked. Second there is no space available to make the complex slider and internal mechanism, and the industrial version is much more expensive to make and therefore to buy. The industrial version was designed more for buffing boats, air planes, and marble, where people buff on sharp angles, with alot of pressure at high RPMS. The PC does not have that kind of stress, and is not built for those applications. That being said for the rotary, everyone that sees the industrial version does seem to prefer the design and mechanism and are not detered by the costs.
 
the obvious reason for the replacement on the PC is that I burn my finger on the button each time I try to release the pads or switch sides. I have learned to use a blunt screwdriver, but this is NOT really the best for the adapter.

Firstly, you don't need to even push hard on the button to get the pad off on the PC, especially with an tools. The proper disconnect is much more of a push or pulling of the pad with a very light touch on the button. That being said, on the PC's you don't even need to push the button at all which would completely eliminate your issue. Just pull the pad quickly in one motion trying to keep it comming off straight and not at an angle to the adapter and the pad will come right off without even touching the button or adapter at all. Try this, and let us know your results and if this info helps you?
