Spent a lot of time in the late 70's/early 80's with my buddy & this 57 Chevy. It's been parked for a few years, & we finally talked him into getting it out & back on the road. After pulling the old distributor & replacing it with a new MSD electronic one, it was time to shine it up.
Keep in mind that the car was last painted in 1971. (for $125 & 2 cases of beer!) In addition to being old, it's not the best quality paint job. It's got some swirls, but with all we had to do we couldn't do much correction. We basically washed it, clayed it, & went over it with my WS21 D/A & Poorboy's Black Hole glaze. The old paint really woke up from the glaze, so we went right to wax, giving it 4 coats of Poorboy's Natty's Red by hand. Then we polished all the chrome & stainless trim.
The interior was really dusty, so we basically wiped everything down. The seats were cleaned with Meg's M40, & we vacuumed the carpet. Hit the glass with Stoners, then sat back & enjoyed our work. Love this old car!

Great job convincing him to get it back on the road so it can be enjoyed!
You say it's not the best quality paint job, and I'll take your word...but, the pics look pretty damn good especially the trunk area!
Blast that baby down the road :hotrod2: no one will even see smallest defect!

Nice looking 57 Chevy. I'll keep an eye out for you incase you drive by me. I live near 71st and Shadeland and get to Greenfield now then for some Gun Shows at the Fairgrounds.

He lives up north of Noblesville. We're planning on taking our cars to the Father's Day car show at Forest Park this Sunday, weather permitting. Check it out if you can. It's always a great show.

It drives me nuts when people leave these cars sitting in their garage. I wish I could afford to purchase everyone that sits in a garage and give it to someone who needs a car to drive. They deserve to be on the road where they are seen and can fulfill their destiny. It's a beautiful car. Thank you for sharing the pictures with us.

Good job. I love old cars. Damn, I just plain love cars. What brand beer was it? :buffing:

Peace,

Darrin
