What is the fastest process for cleaning, compounding, and polishing for a 28 foot 5th wheel. I am looking for advice on pads, machines, and products. Available machine pads and products are: HF rotary with a 7" backing plate, wool pads for that, and 3M marine products for oxidation and colored/gloss enhancer. I do have megs drill DA attachment with yellow polishing pads with available compounds being 105 & 205.

A FLEX 3401 aka the BEAST plus some Lake Country Foam pads and a great one-step cleaner/wax like the 3D HD Speed. Go around the 5th wheel ONE TIME.

Buffing out the 5th wheel trailer or ANYTHING with a Harbor Freight rotary buffer or any rotary buffer with a wool pad is going to completely swirl out the 5th wheel with hologram scratches. Then you're going to have to re-polish the entire 5th wheel trailer to remove all the hologram scratches.

It's going to take a TON of muscle to do this project and you're going to remove way too much paint or gel-coat and use a ton of product.

The fastest and the BEST way is the way I stated above and that's using a gear-driven orbital polisher because it has the POWER to remove the defects without putting hologram scratches into the finish that will look like crap and require more work to remove.

Lots of people over the decades have been there and done that... and then upon "learning" what they did will never do it again.

The tool is not cheap like a tool from Harbor Freight but you'll also never see one for sale used.

If you do find one for sale used then that's called,

The exception to the rule

And the guy that sells it will more than likely regerett it after a few detail jobs without it and then buy another FLEX 3401

Here's what it looks like,

Here's a video that explains how it works compared to all other tools...

Here's where you can get one...

Normal

Flex XC 3401, FLEX Orbital Polisher,flex XC 3401 VRG dual-action polisher,flex XC3401VRG,Dual Action polisher,FLEX buffer

HD cord --> protects the tool - cheap extension cords cause damage to all tools

FLEX XC 3401 VRG HD Orbital Polisher, FLEX buffer, car polisher

And here's where you can get 3D HD Speed

3D HD Speed 32 oz.

Hope that helps and good luck with this project...
