$6,000 reasons not to use a automatic car wash

Yes it does strip wax.
They use very aggressive soap/cleaners to compensate from using a bucket type wash.
Shouldn't remove a polymer type sealant though.

New business trend here in Jax.

3 companies (gate, goo goo and forget other) have announced plans to build 15 plus stand alone car washes total over the next three years. Seems there is a market for those who want a step up from the gas station quickie but do not want to spend the time on the "let your car go through alone and have porters wipe and vacuum at the end."

Stay with your car. Drive through and vacuum yourself at end if you choose for under $10.

Seems like a lot of competition in a hurry for one market.

They keep trying that model, but the chain / franchising of these washes has been very difficult in the past.

Well I'm sure here where I live.
I once tested it on my car to prove a point.
The soap is very strong.
They have soaps now we can buy to do just that, remove wax.
I suggest bringing a bucket of your own soap and use their water.
