601 and 105 application and other questions

Hello. I'm getting ready for a full detail and need some advise on some products. When using the 601 and 105, what is the best method of applying them? Would you do them both by machine or apply the 601 by hand followed with 105 by machine? If by machine, which pads would you recommend? I have orange, white and blue.
Also, are either of these trim safe or should I tape it all off? How would you go about layering on trim? I will be using Collinite 845 over the Duragloss and have read that it is fine for putting over trim. I've been using 303 protectant on my trim so far. Would putting 845 over the 303 help to keep the rubber black?

I do 601/105 by hand -They wont stain trim

I think they are applied best by hand with an applicator pad also.
