67 427 Corvette Thanks Mike Phillips!!!!

So this awesome 67 Corvette is a car I have been looking forward to working on.

A while back Mike Phillips had posted up asking for a detailer in Massachusetts. I posted up my information not knowing what type of vehicle the client needed work on. About a week or so later I hear this big block Corvette come idling down my street and pulls into my driveway. I go outside and introduce myself. Turns out he was the gentlemen asking Mike for a detailer and he is less than 30 minutes from me.

We scheduled the car for yesterday as he was one of 50 1967 Corvettes chosen to be on display at Corvettes at Carisle coming up and he wanted it took look "Presentable" being that he will be parked next to a bunch of high dollar trailer queens.

Upon speaking with him he made it clear he wanted to use a wax on the finish and not a coating or sealant. I kindly obliged and Pinnacle Sovereign was chosen for a nice warm glow after the correction process.

I want to say a big thank you to Mike Phillips and the rest of the forum who have recommended me for work! Means a ton to me!

Onto the car!

Here are some before shots of the paint. Upon my initial inspection I could see some scallop marks and swirls etc. But I knew just by looking at it that this red pigment was just waiting to been shown off and those nasty defects were hiding it!

I wish more classics looked like this at shows and cars and coffees!

I totally agree!

Fantastic work Justin. How long did it take you?

Thanks Pat! I was able to knock it out in a full day. I wanted to get it back to him so he could finish preparing for his trip this weekend.

The old school Crager's make it look like a time capsule very well done in that aspect as well!

Nice work...beautiful car!

Did you do anything to the convertible top? Mike P demonstrated how to wash/clean/protect both vinyl and fabric tops at the Wisconsin Roadshow event last weekend. We used Raggtopp products including that green brush and they worked awesome. And used Meg's PlastX to machine polish the rear window.

Wow!

Way to knock it out of the park!

Thank you so much for taking care of this Corvette owner. Not only do you shine from your professional quality work but you make Autogeek shine by doing professional quality work.

Also - thank you for the follow-up thread.

I create a lot of threads like this

trying to help our members get great projects and help the people that contact me get the best person for the job. It takes me "time" to send e-mails to everyone involved. Takes time to create the thread.

Sad thing, is so few people share the success story after the fact...

So thank you.

:)

What an awesome job on such an awesome car. I got excited when I seen he wasn't a trailer queen and was going on a trip this weekend I looked back and was saddened. This weekend is Woodward Dream Cruise which I have only missed 3. I am a huge fan of the cars that actually get driven and this one is gorgeous.

Thanks Mike. It's the least I can do as a thank you for all the time and effort you put into the industry as a whole. I had a blast working on this car and seeing it transform into a shining beauty.

TU MEKE Justin! :props:

"Tu Meke" is "Too Much" in Maori, which is the native language here in NZ & commonly used as a slang term for AWESOME!!! Look at this Vette Justin, theres little wonder why your name was put forward, your workmanship & passion is always apparent in every post here & on FB & as usual, you have done yourself proud, the owner proud & everyone here proud as well.

I love it when people have SIV vehicles and they actually enjoy driving them. This beauty will show well too. Great post Justin, thank you for keeping us in the loop and sharing with us mate! Stella work.

As always Aaryn thanks for such nice words! Like Mike had said in a thread about polishing paint- when you are passionate about your craft that's when it shows. I love working on cool stuff. Especially when owners appreciate it.
