How many of you here use the LC 7.5" pads with the PC? Or how many have tried it? Any reasoning why or why not? Thanks for the info... I'll post my answers after a few people reply...

I tryed it once and found it took a very very long to get what i was after...so i switched to the 6.5 pads and saved the 7.5 for my rotary.......

I just bought 6 pads as they are on sale. I have used them on my PC7424 and I have no complaints.

I was under the impression that the PC did not have enough power for a 7.5 pad? I use the 6.5 and have never head a problem, never tried the 7.5 though. Interested to see what other members will come up with though.

They are to large to have enough cuttung / working power for the pcs power... i would stick to 6.5

:iagree: :iagree: ;)

the smaller the pad the better on a pc...i actually prefered the orange 5.5 inch low profile orange pads when it comes to cutting with a pc...does way more correcting in less time on a pc...7.5 are a bit big for a pc...not unusable but you will be spending a lot more time with less results...not to bad if you are just using a finishing polish...

When I first got my PC a few years back...I used my rotary pads 7.5 in with it...seemed like I was working for ever to get any where...3..4...5..6...pases on a panel to get results...plus the PC seemed to run hotter seemed like to much pad surface area to move..The I went over to 6 and 6.5 pads...seemed a little better but still took time to do the work....then I switched to 5.25 and 5.5 inch pads..now I get pad rotation..the pad actually was spinning ...correction went much faster...product use was way less...panels felt much warmer from pads generating heat with the rotation...products broke down nicer....results were much better due to products breaking down better...

any ways thats my observations....now my PC use is with 4"..5.25"...and 5.5 inch pads..

I would use any pads bigger then 6" with a PC.

OK guys, thanks for your replies, just what I figured I was going to read :o. I guess I am in the minority because the LC 7.5" pads are the only ones that I use. I began using 6 inch pads and after some delamination issues I switched to the 7.5" pads and haven't looked back.

A common misconception of these pads are that they are too large for the PC to handle. Far from the truth. On speed 6 I can't get the pad not to spin even with a lot of pressure. There is only one way that I'd switch to a smaller pad- that is if LC makes them the same way they do the 7.5" pads. The backing plate is surrounded by the pad making it impossible for the BP to hit the paint and makes centering the pad very easy. The velcro backing is also molded into the pad making it nearly impossible for it to delaminate like other pads. So if they make a 5.5-6" pad that is identical to the 7.5" I'd buy it, if not the 7.5" pads are working great and I have zero complaints. Plus the larger pad = covers more ground in less amount of time. Plus I can use the same pads for the rotary and PC.

Is there anybody in the same boat as me??? I'm just trying to figure out why more people don't use the larger pads, it shouldn't be because they are too big for the PC to handle because that isn't the case...
