I need some help...I have $80*, and $80 exactly to spend, that includes shipping.

What should I get?

I need some new MF, I know, I missed the sale.

I need...well, I need a lot**. If you had $80, what would you get?

Build me a shopping cart that includes the cheapest shipping costs to zip code 21113 and you'll win...you'll actually win nothing other than my admiration and respect, but that should be enough, right?

*The $80 is a Visa gift card I received for buying some tires.

**Note: I have plenty of wheel cleaner, so no Sonax please.

Thanks,
Craig

Well looking in the autogeek store(candy store) it's hard to just spend lets say 60 or 70 dollars but my best advise is look at your detailing products see what you really need if you don't need any products then get some microfiber towels/polishing pads or if you have some time save up some extra cash, and then go shopping

I hear you...this site/store is a curse. But, I'm going to try and limit myself.

The challenge for me is to spend only the rebate money I have and be happy w/the results.

It's not going to be easy. Every time I add something I see something else that I have to have.

Thanks,
Craig

And last but not least:
Welcome to AGO!!

Bob

Thanks...I've been lurking for quite some time...decided a few months ago to register and become a contributor, or just a sponge for all the knowledge.

Craig

I think this is the final order...all the free shipping codes I've tried have not worked.

What do you think?

Screw it...I'll just place this order w/the rebate card and then just order more. Did I mention this site is a curse??

If you're happy...then so am I.

Yea, I think it's good.

The measuring cups were an impulse buy (like everything else on this site).

I wish there was a search function by price...then I could find something the costs 79 cents or less. Maybe that would make a good section...detail kits by price.

Thanks for everyone's help in spending my money...I think this was a good exercise for ordering on a budget. And to whoever is keeping the books at AG, don't worry, you'll be getting a few hundred more of my dollars pretty soon.

"A few hundred"...LOL! That's wishful thinking!

I know right?? What the heck is wrong w/us??

We see a shinny new MF towel, no tag, rolled edge, a color I don't have...gotta have it!!...we see a new color polisher pad...gotta have it!! Someone says "Hey I just used XYZ product and it made my car showroom new!!"...gotta have it!! Stupid bulk buys...gotta have them!! And those videos Mike stars in...of course we we need everything that is used or even shown in the video...the bits and bobs on his work bench are the worst, he just needs to insert product numbers of everything in the view of the camera, the sales numbers will go ballistic.

Mike, what the hell are you doing to us???!!!!

This must be what crack feels like.

Detailing products are the drugs of choice for us OCD freaks! :-)
If I told you what I've spent just at AG since last December, you'd swear I needed some professional help! Lol!

I'm normally not one to judge. But even if I was I couldn't in good conscious judge anyone on this site for the money they have spent on detailing products, on this site or any other.

Besides...the more people order the better the deals are...so, order up!!!

I would get a gallon of meguiars apc w/a spray bottle, get some microfiber towels (nothing super fancy at first), meguiars clay kit, and a sealant/wax such as meguiars tech wax 2.0. Then youre covered from inside and out.

Assuming you are starting from scratch:

1. Collinite 845 wax.

2. Duragloss microfiber mitt.

3. two grit guards

4. Small bottle Optimum No Rinse wash (can be used to make home made detailer)

5 This is where I go out on a limb: I'd get a bottle of Duragloss Aquawax spray wax, and a bottle of Four Star spray wax. Why? As last step products, these have disproportionate impact on the finished appearance. So you might judiciously experiment with two top-flight products. These are things that usually have to be mail ordered. Its expensive to mail order them one by one. So get two different ones now.

Things you need that can be locally sourced:

1. Car wash. Duragloss carwash can be bought at most Carquest (sometimes other Duragloss products). Name brands Meguires and Mothers available at auto stores.

2. Waffle weave towel. Pep boys.

3. Microfiber towels. Warehouse club. Not pretty but they get the job done.

4. Claybar. Even K-mart has them now.

5. Grit guards are sometimes available at Pep Boys. If so, delete from order and get another spray wax.
