This is a 1991 BMW 850i with the big v12 engine in it.

It was left at the shop for a long time. The owner of the shop now is the owner of it. It was repainted a few years back, with a clear coat added. Original was a single stage paint. And a not so great paint job at it too. I worked on the paint for 2 days and the third day the inside.
With other clients I had scheduled, and he needed it done. I spent about 3-4 hours per day on the outside.

The Gameplan
The paint was dull, and had some real bad water etching. So out came the DeWalt with wool and 3M extra cut and a little Optimum polish. The OP was to help with hazing. All the trim was taped off, before I began.
*About 20% etching still remains. I could not remove all of it without jeprodizing the CC.
Then DP Premium Surface Shield went on last.

The Interior
I had to remove the front seats, since it is a very tight area to clean. Between the seat and the console.
DP Interior Surface Protectant was used on the dash, console and door panels.
Carpets were a different store. With my Sanitaire and a new carpet solution from HD, I went to town.

Wow, what a difference. Great job!

Great job!!!:applause:
8-series is clearly one of the best classics ever built! You are very lucky to work one one of them! Once again, very well done!

That looks great :D I don't wanna imagine what she looked like before you restored her.

Really nice job right there :D And what a car, 850 is a sweet ride ;)

Great job Ed! I love the front on those old 850's. I would have really liked to see an engine detail on it.

Beautiful job on the Bimmer. There's a black 850 in KC that the owner keeps pretty nice...but not as nice as that one.

What you did on the interior was outstanding....you get the Detail Addict Gold Star for that one LOL

Super job on both the paint and the interior....

I like the 3M polishes also...they fall right after the Menz in my polish uses....the superfina is a real nice finish polish if you ever try it....

The interior is real clean..great make over....if the cleaner you used was the Zep extractor soap..that stuff is wicked good...no soap residue...cleans like mad also....

Great Job...Impressive....

Really nice job on that car... I didn't even know they had an 850 series!! well done, especially on the interior

Thanks D & D and those seats are heavy too.

Supercharged, I have worked on two so far. A Black one, this one, and soon a green one

I will try to get more pics soon

Gary Sword- I will see what I can do about the engine detail

ToToland Mach- everytime I do a bimmer at the shop I think of you. Since you have the lift. I am trying to get the owner of the shop, to move a bunch of junk away from a section there. That was I can pull them up on the lift:D

Al-53- it was the HD brand cleaner, not the zep one

D2G- they made the 850 series back in the early 90's

Wow night and day, incredable resutls man you do some top notch work. Removing the seat is just wicked. I really like your signature and you sure live by it.

Thank you for sharing, shame there aren't any more pictures ;) would love to see more...but then again I'm a picture fanatic lol :D

Wow! Awesome job. I can see you had to bust your butt on that interior, and it shows! Great turnaround on that interior. Great results on that exterior too.
