I set out to achieve my lifelong dream of becoming an RN. Life has a funny way of throwing curve balls and it was no different this time around. I ended up settling for my LPN in 09 with the knowing in my heart I would one day finish what I originally started, my RN degree.

Tonight I walked the stage with 42 amazing people and received my pin and degree ( technically it'll be mailed to me) completing my quest to become an RN. Within the next month I hope to sit for my boards and put the final touch on it.

Congratulations!!

Now where again is the location of the medical facility
that you plan to: "ply your wares"? :D

I've been plying them at homecare for 5 years, I'm debating switching to hospital work just to see how the other half lives

Being low on the totem pole...
may call for 11-12 hour days; week-end shifts.
At least the money will be more in line with your skill level!

Good Luck!!

Thanks man! I'm expecting the long shifts, but around here it's 3 on 4 off, not too shabby

Congrats Brian! Huge accomplishment and way to follow your dreams :dblthumb2:

Thanks James! One thing I've learned is never be afraid to chase your dreams and never give up on them

Congrats. I I was in medical field for 14 years. I too got my lvn and was waiting for rn school. I worked as an emt both in field and in hospital. I got paid more to work in radiology so I transferred there. I decided that I needed more hands on bedside nursing experience so I worked on the floors as a cna. Worst mistake ever!!!! Unappreciative patients, long hours, physical and mental abuse on a daily basis. I lost the passion and love I had for nursing!!!! It truly is a really demanding career.

I could see myself transforming into someone I hated so I was forced to leave the hospital to preserve my sanity.
I may or may not go back to nursing. Maybe as a nurse in something besides hospital work. As of right now I'm deciding what I really want to do with my career.

Good luck to you. I know how hard it is to complete nursing school. Be proud of what you've accomplished!!!!

Thanks guys, I am most certain proud of what I've accomplished!
