911 Porche Carrera

wolfpacker92 - Thank you for the compliment, means a lot to me. You know what the rotary is really not that scary. I mean once you got the hang of the PC you will see that the rotary is just as easy. I found when starting with the rotary that once you get over the fear of using it and learning how to manipulate it you will enjoy it and get over the fear. Fear is the key word though, once you get over it you will be fine. Just take small steps at a time. Rotary really isn't that bad, it's quite user friendly depending on he type of rotary you purchase.

alban61 - Thank you, when I first saw the vehicle and saw it still had some refletion I thought to my self this will be easy hahaha but like you said when I got up close to it that's when I saw how bad it realy was. The interior turned out nice too, I spent the same amount of time in the exterior as in the interior. Oh and I'm glad you like the pictures, they turned out very nice..I was happy with the pictures becuase I'm no photographer but at least the pictures show's the transformation off the vehicle. Man standing next to it though and feeling the paint and just looking at it is wicked...my neighbors came out to check the vehicle out :righton: Now about the engine, you know on all the vehicles I've done I usually cover the alternator and the sparkplugs and it's been working just fine but on this vehicle there was no way I was going to get my hands in the small engine compartment so I couldn't cover anything. I just used my house and sprayed very lightly and I was just carefull to not let the alternator get to wet...mind you the vehicle did sit in my garage with out movin for about a week though so I'm sure by then everything wasll dried. I'm still going to be covering alternators and sparkplugs in the future but this proved to me that you don't really need to as long as your carefull but like I said I'll continue to cover the alternator and the spakplugs. Hope this helps.

mliebs8 - Thank you...oh and hey you werent supposed to tell anyone about the swap of cars ;) hahaha just kidding it's the same vehicle. I agree with you about keeping the apperance of the vehicle but like I said my friend is a true business man and no time for such things...besides that's why he's got me to pamper his vehicles ;) and I'm more then happy to pampere his vehicles :awesome:

Meghan - Hey I got a response from Meghan, wicked :righton:. Thank you for the kind words Meghan, my friend is still out of town but he wanted lots of pictures so he could see the difference and when he gets home I'm sure he will go over it with a magnefiying glass :D. Thank you for the compliment, mens alot to me.

Gary Sword - Thank you Gary, hope business is going well for you buddy. I'm still looking forward on seeing the pictures of the results with you Metabo. Thank you for the compliment Gary, means alot to me.

Jimmie - Thank you, I'm going to try to educate him on how to take better care for the vehicle but I have a feeling he's just going to say "here are the key's Carlos, make her pritty again" hahahaha...well atleast that's what I'm hoping :D. Thank you for the kind words, me a pro...not quite but slowly getting there but thank you for the compliment means alot to me.

P1et - My friend told me I could drive the vehicle as long as I didn't crash it or get any trickets hahahaha :D. I took the family for a drive and my wife and my little girl where scared. They said I drove to fast...hahaha...vehicles like these are hard to keep under the speed limit, they are ment to go and go fast :righton: I have to admit the amount of lights in my garage sure do come in handy, really helps detailing at any hour. Oh my friend is not still not back from his holidays so he wont be checking the KM for a wile :D hahahaha. Thanks for the compliments bro.

Reddwarf - oh you bet I drove it, I wanted to see what she had and how fast she could go...and scarying my wife and little girl was fun :D. It sure takes corner really well, don't need to hit the brakes it's all in the shifting ;). Thank you for the compliments, they realy do mean alot ot me and the pictures yes I agree they turned out nice and they show the transformation of the vehicle. Thank you.

joe.p - Thank you for the kind words bro. Wet sanding, first time..no, I've been went sanding for a bit now...well I've went sanded a few vehicles before just on some spots but this one needed much more. Wet sanding is wicked :righton: I did nejoy detailing this vehicle...so much that I finished it to fast, I liked having a sport vehicle in my garage...looks good with my Lexus :D...hopefully soon I'll have the sport vehicle I want. Thank you for the compliment bro, means alot to me.

Thats a great job in and out!
How long did it take you?

Fminus - Thank you for the compliment, this vehicle took me about 13hrs.

sparkie - My main man, my compadre, my home boy..how you been buddy? Hope all is well, haven't seen you around to much hope all is well. Thank you for the compliments spark dude, really appreciated. Oh on the sanding, yes it was done by hand and yes it was wet sanding, sorry I missed that part. I used a brand new piece of paper this time, so with the new paper I did the entire vheicle...kept diping it in water to clean it though. P21S gel is good but with the wheel brush it makes it much faster and easy to clean the wheels. The reason I like it is becuase it's strong but gentle just like P21S Total Auto Wash. The other reason I really like it is becuase I could use other chemicals but to be honest I don't want to stand in my garage guessing at rims if they are clear coated or not and what to use. I know that P21S is safe and that's that, I know I'm safe and no fear of me ruening the rims. It's not a cheap product but well worthe the price if you ask me. No worries about the questions bro, keep them coming.
Thank you brother for the reply. You have a point about P21S. It's on my next order.. You got it from AG right or is it from overseas, someone said it was different over there, I think?
Anyhoo got a weird question, did you send me cigars? Got some in the mail with no return address.

A lot of pictures are great Nica! And you're welcome :D. I love looking at pictures.

Nica, you are truly the S&S master. You look like you are getting comfortable with the Metabo and it really is showing!! I like the fact that you are so detailed on the write ups and explain all the way down to the brush used! I guess I'm just cut-n-dry, but I'll work on mine :)

The wetsanded procedure is something I'm going to get into here within the next few months, but you made it look easy. The lights in the garage give it a crazy wet look and I'm sure your pleased with the outcome as well as your friend.

Good Job!

sparkie - Yup, P21S came from AG and it's good stuff. Yup Europe P21S is much different, supposed to be stonger. P21S is really good I guess you could just use it on special details that's what I do...or if the customer is willing to pay for it. Cigars...mmm...nope not from me bro...maibe Al send them to you? What kind are they ;)

klumzypinoy - Yea I like pictures too, glad you enjoyed it.

ehuth1 - Thank you bro for the compliments...um...question what is "S&S"? hehehe :o. Yea the Metabo and I are getting very confortable with each other and I'm loving it :righton: Glad you enjoy the write up, I sometimes think it's to much but compliments like yours encurage me to keep doing it. In addition, I send the link to the vehicle owners and I try to be as detail as possible so they can see exactly what I did to there vehicle so it serves for two purpose my homies here at AG and the customer. As for wet sanding, it's really easy...nothing to it..well at least I think so. You just have to be carefull, I would encurage a paint gauge just to cover your self. I got mine and use it everytime I'm wet sanding, I sometimes take readings before I polish too but not all the time. It depends on the vehicle and what I find out during the paint inspection, if I see something bad on the paint's surface then I pull the paint gauge out and double check if not then I just continue to polishing. Oh yea the lights in the garage are wicked for reflection shots :righton: they sure come in handy to find any imperfections on the paint.

very impressive! I still have to come vist!! or you can come visit me at Country Hills for some golf :P. but I shall sent you a PM tomorrow

Carlos..great, great job. I can see that you really enjoyed doing it too..that's the key. I don't want to do so many that it becomes a job..just enough that it's still enjoyable. That brush looks cool..I used a toothbrush on the Pathfinder and it worked fine..I'm cheap..make that parsimonious!!

Outstanding job, Nica! engine job is beautiful! Gotta try Stoners on engine bay next time. I've been looking at that wheel brush and really like it. The one I've been looking though was Zymol, but it looked pretty much the same to me. Now I really wanna try it.

Question on the process - FPII after PO106FF, did you really need it? PO106FF break down already fine, and surface should be LSP ready.

sneek - Just say when buddy and we can hook up, golf....mmm...I'm in but I suck at golf. That's why I stick with my soccer :D and thanks for the compliments.

richy - Thank you for the compliment bro, I totally agree if you don't enjoy it you won't like doing it and wont be doing it for a long time either. So far I've enjoyed every vehicle I've done...nothing but fun in my garage. The brush workes great but a tuth brush would do just fine too..oh and I hear you about being cheap, I'm cheap too...well with the exeption of detailing ;)

supercharged - Thanks buddy, I appretiate the compliment. I was interested on the Zymol brush too but I was told by my good friend Larry that the Zymol brush falls apart really fast, so that's why I went with this brush. So far so good, the nice thing is that it's cheap $10...not bad. I'll be using it on all my details from now on, it works great on rims and on the interior as well. About the FPPII after 106FF, I honestly didn't really need to do it. 106FF did finish LSP ready but I wanted to get the vehicle to look wet and golssy and FPII did that. When I was done, I tried putting a towel on the surface of the vehicle and it would not stay on the vehicle, it just glided off. I find that FPII really gives the vehicle that extra pop and gloss to it, it's an amazing product. This three step process is what I'm starting to call my "special treatment".

To all that have replied thank you all for the compliment, really hit's home if you know what I mean :D

Carlo's...very nice job....the silver is just glowing now...you brought it to another level ....the engine compartment is grand....just like it was from the factory...

the whole car is a A+ job...

everything you did came out super looking....

Nice Skills

Al

Hey Carlos! Give me a hint were you have bought the zymol and the swisvax brush please :D

Wow Zymol ... watch your back the Zymol Police kids will be paying you a little visit !!!!
They jumped on me pretty good !!!

wow carlos, you've got skills, that is for sure! every one gets even better than the next! love the engine bay too - day to night!

Al-53 - Thank you bro for the compliment. I wanted the engine compartment to look beter then new and I must say she looks nice...man I'm so happy with the results I'm framing the picture hahaha no not really but that's how proud I am of the work I did :D.

pirex - Well this particular Zymol wax I actually managed to get it from a dealer here in town but you could always go to there main website, google it. As for the Swissvax brush, my home boy Larry got it for me I'm guessing he got it from Swissvax in the US, actually that is where he got it..um..google Swissvax too and you'll be able to find it bro.

Bob Who - Yea I know I've been reading lots about what's going on with Zymol and the UK, not good. I actually phoned up Diane from Zymol and discussed this with her and it's actually not a big deal as what people have led it to be. It all revolves about being a certefied detailer, it's kinda interesteing how Zymol seems to be shooting them selves on the foot but oh well. I like there products and will probably continue using it but with caution ;) if you know what I mean. Thanks for the heads up, question what did the do to you? I'm imagening something among the line to remove the Zymol name from any of your posts/websites..ect...ect..?? Funny thing is that they don't target the individual, well unless you do it as a business, but they seem to be targeting the forums. Putting the squeese on them, to be hoenst I'm not overly concerned about it...but I'll be curious to see how this whole thing will play out.

It's a good brush devst8 and I'll be getting some more as the only two I have will get lots of use/abuse. Just go to the home page of Swissvax and check them out there, the price is not to bad either. They got a bunch of different typse of brushes and I'll be piking a few next time. These came highly recommended by pro detailers and a good buddy that does tons of hands on re-search along with web re-search. Like I said I'll be using them on all my details from here on in, if I have any problems with them (which I doubt) I'll post the issues up.
