92 volvo 940 turbo

So another volvo lol....This one is a 92 940 turbo wagon. The previous owner didn't give a crap about keeping it clean. I had to wash the car 3 TIMES TO GET ALL OF THE DIRT OFF!!! lol I washed the car with chemical guys bug and tar remover. I then claybared the car and we also changed the wheels to some OEM BBS volvo wheels.

I polished the paint with a porter cable and the yellow lake country pad using chemical guys compound 3(heavy compound) followed by chemical guys compound 2 with the green lake county pad, and finally chemical guys compound 1 and a white lake country pad. I did underneath the door handles by hand.I then cleaned the door jambs with chemical guys grime reaper apc mixed with chemical guys orange degreaser.

Then I vacuumed and shampooed the entire car with my bissel little green. I ran out of time today so i will be dressing the trim and the interior, as well as the tires tomorrow

I cleaned the paint afterwards with klasse all in one and applied 3 healthy coats of collinite 476 so that this crap wouldnt happen again lol.:buffing:

Chemguy - Wow, that wagon is in bad shape. How do you like the CG Bug Shampoo? Thanks for posting all the Before and After pictures. The paint turned out great.

I love it...for a car like this it works great...sometimes ill even throw some cg grime reaper into the mix if the car is really bad.

On another note, the car is surprisingly fast!!! the owner put a bigger 15g turbo on it and it hauls for a station wagon lol

I miss the boxy Volvos. I think they lost something when they went jellybean/swoopy styling. And you're right, some of those turbos were surprisingly fast.

I couldn't believe the amount of dirt on the before pics. Nice work!
 
And I assume that's a trash bag full of dirty MF sitting next to the Volvo in the rear shot? LOL! I would probably have used 3 or 4 bags of MF (I'm always amazed how many I use on a normal wash of my car).
 
Great turnaround! I love older Volvos, always have. I have a white '96 850 that needs its radiator replaced. After I get around to that I can't wait to completely overhaul the paint and interior. :)
