I've always loved these cars and when they're matched up with a Chevy LS1, LS2, LS6...or basically any LS motor, they become monsters. Awesome weight distribution, excellent power, very balanced and very fast! I've done a few of these and it was fun doing another. A lot of work has gone into this one, and only thing it needed was a hood that will clear the massive intake. On to the paint... It was dull and lifeless, as well as heavily contaminated (took 3 hours to clay). A one step correction was requested and after trying out several combos, the best one was PCXP with LC Tangerine and M205. Removed all the oxidation and nearly all swirls. While not a full correction, it came out very nicely. Onto the pics!

Hood cutout taped off to keep engine bay dry. Owner didn't want the engine wet at all

Hard to capture the defects on white, but here is the 50/50 shot. As you can see, some RIDS remain since this is just a 1 step correction.

LSP was Meguiars #16. Absolutely awesome stuff if you can find it!

Took it outside for some water beading shots :)

After drying the car, the wheel lips were polished and entire wheel surface was sealed with Opti-Seal x2. Made the wheels much shinier and brighter. Here are the final pics as the sun was setting. Hard to get the sun tho as it was a heavy overcast day.

I love those RX7's! They are becoming harder and harder to find and when you find a nice one, you pay for it.

Very nice job bringing it back to life-it looks great. Is that the original paint?

One other question and I don't want you taking it the wrong way because I don't mean to insult if it seems to come off that way. Have you always done nice/cool cars like the ones you have been posting the past couple weeks or have you been getting better jobs since you did the detail for the guy who found you on here? (I can't remember the vehicle now-sorry)

I don't know if its orig paint or not.

Well I've been doing this a while now...but when I started, I started at the bottom as most people, and its grown a ton since then.

What guy found me on here? I have no idea what thats about....

Thought you had a post a while back stating you did a car for a guy who saw your work on here. Didn't mean anything bad by it, was just asking because I thought it was cool that someone could get work from posting on a forum.

I talked with Todd Cooperider a couple weeks ago and he said once you start doing higher end work and you deliver excellent results, word spreads fast within the enthusiast community. That was my basis for asking, that's all.

I think it was from another forum. No harm done ;)

Todd is right. ;)

Those were great looking cars! The era had the Supra, Stealth, RX-7, MR-2... The RX7 was the best body of them all IMO. This one looks mean as hell. Good job and great results!
