95 Hour Detail by Oakes - BMW M5

That is one amazing looking car. You can tell you spent a lot of time on it and it paid off. Amazing job!

WOW, That is amazing,
I wish I had that much time, to do all of that.
Looks like a brand new BMW M5 that was only driven once.

Simply amazing! You've got some serious skills. :urtheman:

Thanks everyone! Appreciate the kind words immensely

Dear God, that is amazing.

When you can see the true color of surrounding objects in the paint as you would in a mirror, that's the definition of "mirror". The pic having the Corvette and Scooby in the background exemplifies this...

Fantastic work. The orange peek is the bane of modern BMW paint systems. I have a 2008 in Moncao Blue the peel is very noticeable, older ones I own or have owned did not have it to this degree. I'm a real fan of BMW blues and Interlagos is one of my favorites. Simply stunning, looking forward to the product list used.

One question though,, have you used OC2.0? How does that comapre to Cquartz in your mind. I like the fact that CQuartz can be topped, which gives you the ability to play with the look a bit using different waxes and QD's. Thanks.

absolutely outstanding job! if you had to price a correction like this again what would the number be? not being nosey but time is money and the quality of your work is wonderful. i spent about 50 hrs on a full correction when we bought my wifes 07 black mb from her brother and i wouldnt touch it again for less than $1,000 to a customer.

congrats!

That peal was from the factory paint job?
Incredible work BTW!:xyxthumbs:

If he took 95 hours and his rate is $55 an hour it was $5225.

Is that about right?

Great work as usual. The new water based paint systems don't lay down like to old stuff did. The price we pay for keeping Al Gore happy.

I think it would be super silly to charge that much.. Not to bash but I could problably do the same job for like 40 hours.

I mean 5000$ you get a super good paint job for that price. better repaint the car at this price.

amazing finish, great work, it shows that you took the time to do something like this correctly. The pictures are beautiful, what kind of camera/lens do you use?

Again awesome work!

Disagree here. I wont disclose the actual price I charged, but I can assure you it was reasonable price for the work done and satisfied the customer.

Also think 40 hours is bit of a bold estimate for something with inconsistent paint like this car had, theres no cut and dry method to sanding any car fully and properly in a stiff time frame. Also not sure where you are but having dealt with vehicles needing resprays over the past decade...proper paint jobs easily fetch $10-20k if you want it done right. Even then, you risk not getting proper clears, depth and preps.

5k gets you surface same color resprays without jams/window removal, and tons of orange peel....just like what this car had. You also end up with unoriginal paint which takes away from the value of the vehicle immensely.
